More about our mission and what we offer.
At Wise, we navigate a challenging regulatory landscape across multiple jurisdictions as we continue to offer a convenient, transparent and eventually free payments product to our global network of customers.
We are currently looking for 2 strong, self motivated and capable individuals to lead regulatory implementation programmes across our global licenses.
In this role, you will work with a diverse set of stakeholders from product, engineering, and our second line risk and compliance teams to ensure a smooth and effective implementation of new regulatory regimes into Wise’s products and internal processes.
Your mission:
Design the implementation programme for a broad array upcoming internal and external regulatory initiatives across the globe
Act as the first point of contact for interpretation of novel regulatory changes on the first line of defence and how they apply to Wise’s business
Structure project plans for the implementation of complex regulatory projects, ensuring that material risks are appropriately prioritised
Operate effective project governance and management structures, ensuring stakeholders (including via committee) remain updated and accountable for any deliverables required to ensure compliance
Communicate regularly with the second and third lines of defence and (where necessary) regulators on the status of projects.
Rapidly upskill on technical expertise required to understand product gaps and work directly with engineers and analysts to quickly identify, quantify and remediate these
We are looking for someone with a strong track record of delivering compliant outcomes for complex regulatory changes across global organisations
Minimum 3 years experience working on regulatory implementation programmes in an in-house financial services or consulting organisation
Ability to run a first interpretation of relevant legislation/regulation, apply it in a payments fintech context and identify the key risks posed
Broad understanding of the regulatory requirements and obligations globally posed on payments firms (financial crime screening, authentication, safeguarding, consumer protection etc.)
Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams with a baseline understanding of how regulatory controls are implemented through code/technical service architecture
Clear communication, project coordination, and management skills
In-person collaboration in our London office required, including international travel to work with colleagues in other offices worldwide
