Paid sabbatical

It's a marathon, not a sprint. We know working at Wise is challenging and all our people go above and beyond for our customers.

That’s why, after 4 years at Wise, you’ll have the option to take a sabbatical. You’ll get 6 weeks’ paid time off and £1,000 financial support.

Work from anywhere

After your first 6 months, most people can work virtually from (almost) anywhere in the world for up to 90 days a year: Yep, just about anywhere on the planet. This gives you the flexibility to visit your family, or travel and experience living the way many of our customers do. And of course, use our product while you’re at it. 🙂

Me Days

You get 3 ‘me days’ per year to help you manage your life. This can be used for whatever you like — perhaps to take the dog to the vet, to pamper yourself, or take your Mum on a day out. It’s completely up to you. Me days are prorated in your first year, based on your start date.

Parental leave

We offer a minimum of 18 weeks* (or 4 months in Estonia) of fully paid parental leave for birth or adoption, if a person has been at Wise for 1+ year at the due date or adoption date. This applies regardless of gender, or your partner’s parental leave policies.

Professional development fund

There’s no shortage of growth opportunities at Wise and it’s up to you to choose how you want to develop your skills to get there. That’s why all our employees have a dedicated yearly allowance to boost their professional development.


Flexible working

We know that teams and individuals all have different needs depending on what they need to deliver, as well as their personal circumstances. That’s why we have company-wide principles around flexible working and our teams set their own guidelines too.

We expect new joiners to be in the office most days to build connections and learn from colleagues for their first six months.

Compassionate and sick leave

There may be times when you need to care for another, have a family emergency that you weren’t expecting, or a bereavement. We offer 5 paid days of compassionate leave per calendar year. Of course, you may need more than that, and this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We also offer 10 days leave on full pay for any Wisers affected by pregnancy loss, ​​including those who are partners or surrogate mothers. Wise offers up to 15 paid sick days each year.

Employee Assistance Program

This free, confidential service is there to support you with anything that’s on your mind. Whether you need mental health support, financial or legal guidance, help with a family issue or how to manage your work-life balance – their experts are on hand to provide you with the help you need. This service is available 24/7 over the phone, online or face to face.

Holiday / Vacation

Wisers in all locations get a minimum of 33 days paid time off per year, including local public holidays, to rest, relax and recharge your batteries.

Employee Referral Scheme

This is an initiative that encourages you to help us find potential new joiners through your own networks. And as a reward, we pay a bonus for all successful hires.

Volunteering day

As a mission-driven and socially responsible organisation, Wise encourages employees to support their community. We offer a day each year for you to volunteer with an organisation of your choice.


Social get togethers

As well as regular team lunches and get togethers in the office, we also have a 'fun budget' of £30 (or local currency equivalent) per Wiser per month to connect with our teams, in person or virtually.    

What we offer in each location

Here's what's available in our key locations on top of the global offering above.

Heading

Time off:

  • Paid time off: 36 days PTO (holiday, paid time off) per year, including paid public holidays.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Life insurance: We’ll provide you with 1x the amount of your salary up to $200,000 in paid Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
  • Short and long-term disability coverage: Wise will provide you with paid short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Health plan benefits: If you’re a full-time employee, you’re eligible to enroll in insurance coverage within your first 30 days of employment. The coverage options include, but are not limited to, *medical, dental, vision and supplementary coverage. *This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.

Financial wellbeing:

  • 401(k): Save towards your retirement with our 401(k) plan. Wise will match 100% of your contributions from 1-2% and 50% of your contributions from 3-6%.
  • Commuter benefit (NYC only): You can enroll in a Commuter FSA that will set aside tax-free funds from your paycheck that can be used towards eligible commuter transit.

The office:

  • Dog-friendly: You’re welcome to bring your well behaved friends to the Tampa and NYC offices. Unfortunately our Austin office doesn't allow pets.

Time off:

  • Vacation: You'll get 20 days of annual leave, plus any public holidays that fall on a working day. We top up these days off with enhanced holidays to make sure you get a total of 33 days off annually.
  • Maternity leave: In addition to Wise’s global parental leave, Wisers are also entitled to statutory parental leave.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Medical: You’ll be covered by medical insurance, which includes GP care, hospitalisation and outpatient care and an annual health and dental screening.
  • Accident and Disability Insurance: You're covered in case of permanent disability or death at 1x your annual salary, and for critical illness at 6x your monthly salary.
  • On site gym: We have a gym in the office you can use whenever you need!
  • All You Can Move card: We have an All You Can Move partnership making you eligible to enter the AYCM movement and financing it yourself. You can find more information from their website.

Financial wellbeing:

  • Leisure card: We offer all employees a SZÉP card which can be used for accommodation, catering and leisure activities.
  • Transportation support: Each Wiser is granted a cash payment for commuting purposes, equivalent to the cost of the Budapest public transport monthly pass.
  • E-car sharing service: We have a partnership with an e-car sharing service, providing Wisers with free registration and discounted driving fees.

The office:

  • Dogs: We’re a dog friendly company. You’re welcome to bring your well behaved friends to the office.

Time off:

  • Annual leave: You’ll get 25 working days of annual leave (plus local public holidays).
  • Parental leave: For each child, each parent is entitled to a maximum of 4 months of parental leave. This can be taken in 4 months full-time, 8 months half-time, 20 months 4/5th or finally 40 months 1/10th, in accordance with Belgian regulations. This is offered on top of the 18 fully paid weeks of birth leave (both maternity and paternity).

Health and wellbeing:

  • Hospitalisation and group insurance: We have insurance through AXA assistance which covers hospital coverage, critical illness insurance and an online GP service. AXA’s pension group insurance gives all Brussels Wisers peace of mind when thinking about their long term pension savings goals.
  • Annual cheques: Annual ecocheques and sports and culture cheques are provided to support Wisers’ health and wellbeing.

Financial wellbeing:

  • Home office and communications allowance: With Wise’s flexible work model everyone has the freedom to decide which days to spend in the office, at home or elsewhere in the world. Setting up and maintaining a home office has its own financial toll, though – to compensate, Wise offers a monthly home office and communications allowance.
  • Transportation contribution: Travel with public transport is encouraged and Wise offers a contribution to the cost. Do you bike to the office? Even better, you’ll benefit from our bikers’ allowance.

Time off:

  • Vacation: You’ll get 21 days of annual leave per year (plus 14 federal public holidays).

Health and wellbeing:

  • Private medical insurance: You’re covered by medical insurance, which includes hospitalisation, outpatient care, life and accident insurance.

Time off:

  • Annual leave: 25 days paid holiday + UK paid bank holidays per calendar year. This is prorated for those who work part-time and/or started midway through the year.
  • Maternity leave: Get an extra 8 weeks’ maternity leave on top of the 18 weeks’ global minimum. So that’s 26 weeks total leave at full pay, plus an additional 13 weeks at statutory maternity pay.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Life Insurance: All Wisers get life insurance at 4 times your salary.
  • Private medical insurance: We provide a private medical coverage plan, where the only cost for you is any excess and the associated tax. You’re also able to cover your partner or family for an additional fee.
  • Income protection insurance: All Wisers are covered for 60% of income after six months of illness.
  • Critical illness insurance: Protect yourself in case of serious injury or illness through this self-funded, salary sacrifice benefit offered at preferential rates.
  • Dental Insurance: Protect your teeth with discounted, self-funded insurance for you and your family.
  • Eyecare vouchers: Check your eye health and eye sight, as well as get access to free glasses and 15% discount on upgrades.
  • Flu vouchers: Free flu vaccine vouchers each year.

Financial wellbeing:

  • Financial education programme: All Wisers can access free one-to-one financial consultations, online resources and regular masterclass sessions to understand their personal finances and find answers to common issues.
  • Pension: Save towards your retirement with our contributory pension plan. When you contribute 3% upwards, Wise will contribute 5% on top.
  • Season ticket loan: Save on transport costs to and from work with our Annual Season Ticket Loan.
  • Cycle to work scheme: Hire a new bike, along with equipment, and spread the cost over 12-months while making savings on tax and National Insurance. Deductions are taken from your monthly pay.
  • Gym membership: Get discounted membership at over 3,000 of the UK’s leading gyms, boot camps and yoga studios.
  • Charitable Giving: Donate to charities, tax free, directly from your payslip.
  • Travel insurance: Get discounted, self-funded protection for you and your family for unlimited trips. Winter sports and scuba diving included.

The office:

  • Dogs: We’re a dog friendly company. You’re welcome to bring your well behaved friends to the office.
  • Sauna and terrace: We have an in-office sauna and a terrace you can use to relax and hang out with your team.

Time off:

  • Annual leave: You'll receive 18 days of annual leave per calendar year, plus 15 local public holidays.
  • Maternity Leave: You’ll get 26 weeks of fully paid maternity leave for the first two births (after 80 days of employment) and 18 weeks for subsequent births (after 1 year of employment).

Health and wellbeing:

  • Private medical insurance: You’ll be covered by medical insurance, which includes medical, and life insurance.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Group Life Insurance: All our employees in Brazil are covered by life insurance with no copay or co-fee.
  • Group health care: All our employees in Brazil are covered by medical insurance and dental care with no copay or co-fee.

Financial wellbeing:

  • Gym Subscription: We offer a partnership with TotalPass, providing gym membership at a discounted rate.
  • Transportation Voucher: If your commute to work on public transit costs more than 6% of your monthly salary, Wise will provide a transportation voucher to cover the costs above 6%.
  • Meal Vouchers: All employees in Brazil receive monthly food and meal vouchers.

The office:

  • WeWork perks: As part of your WeWork subscription, you’ll get access to additional exclusive discounts.

Time off:

  • Annual leave: You’ll get 22 calendar days of annual leave per year (plus 11 days’ public holiday).
  • Childcare leave: If you’ve been with us for 3 months and have children below 7 years old, you’ll be eligible for 6 days childcare leave. Parents with children aged between 7-12 years old are eligible to 2 days.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Private medical insurance: You’ll be covered by medical insurance, which includes, medical, dental and life insurance amongst other benefits.
  • Wise offers Maternity Insurance. However, you must have been enrolled under the insurance policy for 10 months prior to the delivery date to benefit from this part of the insurance.
  • Health checks: You’ll get an annual health check with personalised recommendations.
  • Door-to-door medical assistance: Our insurance policy covers tele-consult medical service which allows you to see a doctor on your mobile phone and get medication delivered to you.
  • Fitness discounts: You’ll get discounts at gyms and other fitness facilities through our healthcare provider.

Time off:

  • Annual leave: You’ll get 24 days of annual leave per calendar year (plus 9 or 10 days of local public holidays).

Financial wellbeing:

  • Superannuation: Wise will contribute to your superannuation, up to the maximum contribution base. You may opt to contribute more towards your super fund if you want to through salary sacrifice.

Time off:

  • Holidays: 28 days of annual leave, plus any public holidays that fall on a working day. We top these days off with enhanced holidays to make sure you get a total of 33 days off annually.
  • Parental leave: In addition to Wise’s global parental leave, Wisers are also entitled to statutory parental leave.
  • Sick leave: You can take up to 5 days fully paid sick days per calendar year without having to go to a doctor. Sick leave with a doctor's note will be compensated according to the local legislation. We maintain your salary for the first 3 days (usually unpaid)- after that you’ll receive 70% of your average salary.

Health and wellbeing:

  • Health and wellbeing allowance: You’ll receive 400€ credit per year and you can choose whether you want to use that towards a gym membership with a discounted rate, Stebby allowance, private health insurance or online doctor.
  • You'll also get personal accident and trauma cover insurance on top of the health and wellbeing allowance at no extra cost to you.
  • Health checks: In addition to your mandatory health check, we provide a D-vitamin test and regular flu vaccines.
  • Eyewear compensation: You can apply for glasses or contact lens compensation up to 50€.

The office:

  • Dogs: We’re a dog friendly company. You’re welcome to bring your well behaved friends to the office.
  • Sauna and terrace: We have an in-office sauna and a terrace you can use to relax and hang out with your team.

Time off:

  • Vacation: You’ll get 21 days of annual leave per year (plus 16 public holidays).

Financial wellbeing:

  • Commuting allowance: Wise provides compensation for your monthly public transportation pass.
  • Pension: Wise is registered with the Individual-type Defined Contribution Pension (iDeCo) system at the workplace, so you can obtain proof of employment.
