Job Description

We’re looking for a Contract Manager to join our growing Third Party Management and Procurement Team in Tallinn or Budapest.

This role will focus on managing third-party contracts with a significant emphasis on legal work (100% legal).

It's a unique opportunity to build on your contract management experience, help deliver Wise’s mission of money without borders, and grow within a global, fast-paced listed company environment while ensuring our contracts meet Wise’s commercial and regulatory requirements.

Your mission:

Wise continues to pioneer new ways for people and businesses to send, spend, receive and manage their money across borders and currencies.

Your mission is to enable, protect, and empower the business and people of Wise by ensuring Wise’s key third-party contracts support our commercial objectives, comply with regulatory standards and Wise’s policies and processes.

About the role:

  • You will review contractual agreements and other legal terms for existing and new third parties to ensure compliance with Wise’s policy, global or local commercial and regulatory requirements, including major regulations such as the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the European Banking Authority’s Guidelines (EBA) on outsourcing arrangements.
  • Help Wisers negotiate legal clauses for critical third-party contracts, collaborating with a wide range of business functions across the organisation, working closely with our Legal, Security and Privacy teams.
  • Identify relevant regulatory risks, develop and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity in Wise’s contracts lifecycle management.
  • Build strong relationships across various business units within Wise to provide practical contract management advice.
  • Recommend and execute improvements in contract management and lifecycle processes.
  • Collaborate with multiple business teams to establish streamlined contracting processes.
  • Ensure all contracts meet internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior stakeholders on contract statuses and risks.
  • Develop and deliver contract management training to internal teams.
  • Contribute to evaluating, selecting, and implementing appropriate technologies to support the Third Party Management Team’s needs, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
  • Contribute to Wise’s knowledge management and horizon scanning processes.
  • Be creative and innovative, always seeking to be proactive and progressive in improving our operations.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your path to impact - we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. You’ll take ownership from day one. Of course, you will have feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll experience unique levels of ownership and empowerment within your role.
  • Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

Qualifications

About you:

  • You have large experience in leading contract negotiation and contract management, particularly within the financial services or fintech industry.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in contracts adhering to England and Wales law, as well as regulatory frameworks such as the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
  • Proven track record of drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts from a legal perspective.
  • Strong understanding of third-party contracts complying with regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across different teams
  • Ability to advise, manage and report risks effectively, providing practical solutions to mitigate them.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management tools and processes.
  • Demonstrable ability to evaluate and summarise contract terms, communicating them in a clear and pragmatic way to different stakeholders.

  • A get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
