Job Description

Wise is seeking a motivated and experienced Business Intelligence Lead to join our team!

In this critical role, you will be the owner of the CS BI function and its reporting capabilities, playing a crucial part in enabling data-driven decision-making.  You will work closely with the ops analyst team to develop and enhance management information packs, ensuring their governance through regular reporting.  Your leadership will drive improvements to scale our operations and empower our teams with actionable insights. 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development & Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for how business intelligence can drive the organization forward, aligning BI initiatives with the broader business strategy. 
  • Lead and manage BI-related projects from conception through to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. 
  • Lead and develop a team of BI analysts and data specialists, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. 
  • Oversee the budget for the BI team, resources, and personnel, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize ROI. 

Data Collection, Management & Governance:

  • Own the processes for collecting, storing, and maintaining data across the organization. 
  • Ensure data quality and accessibility for all BI initiatives. 
  • Establish and maintain a data governance framework, including policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and usability of data. 
  • Ensure all BI processes comply with data protection regulations and internal policies, overseeing the security of BI data and tools. 

Reporting & Insights:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of BI reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and that they meet end-users' needs. 
  • Provide descriptive and diagnostic insights and data-driven recommendations to support operational decisions
  • Perform mid to low-level analytics with the help of operations analytical counterparts. 
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for the BI team and the broader impact of BI on the organization. 

Tool Implementation & User Adoption:

  • Support appropriate BI tools that align with organizational needs, overseeing their implementation and integration. 
  • Develop and lead training programs for end-users on BI tools and data literacy, driving user adoption. 
  • Equip other employees with the skills and knowledge to utilize BI tools and upskill where necessary. 

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the BI team and other business units. 
  • Regularly communicate insights and progress to stakeholders to support business objectives. 
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, deliver insights, and demonstrate the value of BI initiatives. 

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve BI tools and processes. 
  • Explore new trends and technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of BI. 

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written English; proficiency in other languages is a plus. 
  • Proven ability to convince others and present viewpoints and solutions effectively to aid informed decision-making. 
  • Skilled in facilitating effective and efficient decision-making conversations. 
  • Ability to identify, create, and apply processes, methods, knowledge, skills, and experiences to achieve project objectives. 
  • Great communication and presentation skills to support internal and external cross-team projects and audits. 
  • A strong understanding and ability to analyze and improve team metrics. 
  • A proven track record of taking ownership and responsibility, alongside being a great team player. 
  • Previous work experience in customer service operations. 
  • Experience or interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Minimum of 1-3  years of previous experience in team leadership in a Business Intelligence team. 
  • Stress tolerance. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Friendly, creative, and a problem solver. 
  • A great fit for our company values and culture. 
  • Must have a clean police report. 
  • Proficiency in a variety of BI tools and software for reporting and data visualization.
