The Spend Ops team is supporting the Product on building: reliable, convenient and eventually free product to spend anywhere in the world.

Job Summary
The Card Payments Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the Spend Ops team’s technical and operational compliance with Visa and Mastercard scheme requirements. This role involves monitoring compliance, implementing technical solutions to meet scheme standards, conducting audits, and providing guidance on regulatory requirements specific to payment card industry schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Visa and Mastercard regulations, including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Visa and Mastercard scheme requirements, regulations, and industry best practices.
Contribute to the development and implementation of technical compliance policies and procedures.
Technical Implementation:
Work with development teams to ensure that systems and applications meet Visa and Mastercard compliance requirements.
Contribute to the implementation of technical controls to comply with scheme standards.
Perform regular assessments of systems to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Audits and Assessments:
Contribute to internal audits of technical systems to ensure adherence to Visa and Mastercard compliance standards.
Prepare for and facilitate external audits and assessments, ensuring all necessary documentation and processes are in place.
Identify and address compliance risks and gaps, providing recommendations for remediation.
Training and Communication:
Support the development and delivery of training on Visa and Mastercard compliance requirements.
Communicate compliance policies, updates, and changes to relevant stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and support to departments and teams on compliance-related issues.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, audits, and assessments related to Visa and Mastercard schemes.
Prepare detailed reports on compliance status, issues, and actions taken.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of compliance reports to Visa, Mastercard, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about changes in Visa and Mastercard scheme requirements and industry standards.
Recommend and implement improvements to compliance programs and technical processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance considerations into business operations and system designs.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance or specialist role, preferably within the payment card industry.
Proven experience with Visa and Mastercard compliance requirements and technical standards.
Skills:
Strong understanding of Visa and Mastercard scheme compliance
Familiarity with card processing technologies (ISO 8583, EMV tokenization, 3-D Secure and PCIDSS)
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in compliance software, security tools, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of SQL and other Business Intelligence tools like Looker, Superset or Snowflake is a plus.
Work Environment
Location: Office-based with some remote work flexibility.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required for cross team work, training, and industry conferences.

You have excellent written and verbal English skills
You are flexible with your working hours to work with teams in different time zones
Starting salary for this role is 7,400 SGP gross per month.
