Job Description

The KYC Regional Lead is responsible for directing and managing a designated group of Wise KYC teams, ensuring their productivity, quality, and staffing align with demand. This role involves implementing policies and procedures to enhance the utilization, quality, and cost efficiency of the teams, in collaboration with Wise Central Functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead and manage a group of KYC Senior Team Leads and their teams, ensuring alignment with the wider KYC organization’s objectives.
    • Develop operational strategies and objectives for sub-functions, managing local budgets, policies, and procedures.
    • Ensure adherence to regional and global KYC and Wise operational standards.
  • Operational Excellence:

    • Drive productivity, quality, and efficiency improvements within the assigned teams.
    • Utilize customer insights and root cause analysis to identify and implement potential improvements.
    • Define and negotiate resource utilization in line with service specifications and business objectives.
  • People Management:

    • Engage, motivate, and retain the immediate report group and the assigned teams.
    • Equip teams with necessary tools, training, and support for effective people management and operational tasks.
    • Conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, and communicate job expectations for KYC Senior Team Leads.
    • Provide regular feedback and support growth through goal setting and development initiatives.
  • Relationship Management:

    • Collaborate with Service Experience, Workforce Management, Vendor Management, and Product Teams to align resources with business objectives and service levels.
    • Represent KYC teams within the Wise organization.
  • Budgeting and Compliance:

    • Manage the assigned team budget, ensuring utilization and adherence to financial targets.
    • Ensure full regulatory compliance and adherence to legal labor requirements.
  • Capacity Management:

    • Collaborate with KYC Operations leadership to align staffing, recruiting, and retention strategies with organizational goals.
    • Identify staffing needs and execute best practices for hiring and talent management in collaboration with the Recruitment team.
    • Monitor compliance with local employment laws and regulations, modifying policies as necessary.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in KYC/AML, financial crime, compliance, or a related field within the financial services industry
  • At least 5+ years of leading medium to large sized teams
  • The ability to identify, create and apply processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experiences with the aim to achieve project objectives
  • Good understanding and ability to analyze and move team’s metrics
  • Great communication and presentations skills to support internal and external cross-team projects and audits
  • Good understanding of the regulatory framework surrounding verification
  • Passion for leading and living our company values
  • Proven track record of taking individual ownership and responsibility as well as being a great team-player
