Join our Send Core as an Engineering Lead and take ownership of the core components with a mission sending money as easy, fast, and reliable as paying with a card.
As the central team responsible for the entire sending journey, you'll lead the engineering efforts that directly determine whether we achieve our card-payment-level experience and scale.
This is a high-impact role where you'll own the critical infrastructure that every sending transaction flows through - whether it's a personal transfer or a multi-million dollar business payment. You'll start with focused ownership of our core sending components but will expand to oversee a much larger domain as we scale to serve our growing enterprise client base.
What You'll Do
Own the Core Sending Journey: Lead the central team responsible for all core components of the sending experience
Ensure Card-Level Performance: Make sending money as easy, fast, and reliable as card payments through technical excellence
Control Critical Infrastructure: Own the systems that every sending transaction depends on across the entire platform
Drive Technical Excellence: Make architectural decisions for the core components that determine sending success or failure
Ensure Zero-Downtime Reliability: Maintain and improve the central systems that all sending experiences flow through
Grow Your Team: Mentor and develop engineers while building the team that owns the most critical sending components
Shape the Sending Future: Partner with other product teams to define how core sending components evolve
Lead Cross-Team Coordination: Ensure all teams building on top of your core components can deliver exceptional experiences
Technical Responsibilities
Design and implement the core components that determine the speed, reliability, and ease of every transaction
Lead architectural decisions for the systems that all sending experiences depend on
Simplify complex financial systems while maintaining the reliability that enterprise clients demand
Ensure engineering excellence for the central components that make or break the sending experience
Leadership Responsibilities
Lead the central team that owns the most critical components of the sending journey
Foster a collaborative culture while maintaining ownership of core sending infrastructure
Work cross-functionally to ensure other teams can build exceptional experiences using composable blocks.
Drive technical discussions and decision-making for systems that impact the entire sending platform
Build and maintain team culture focusing on the impact
What We're Looking For
Technical Excellence
Strong experience building and scaling complex, high-reliability systems
Excellent system design and architectural thinking
Ability to simplify complex problems and communicate technical concepts clearly
Comfortable with pair programming and collaborative development
Language-agnostic with strong computer science fundamentals
Product Mindset
Clear understanding of why we build what we build
Focus on solving real customer problems with every feature
Ability to articulate the business value and customer impact of technical decisions
Experience working closely with product teams
Leadership Skills
Proven track record of growing and mentoring engineers
Experience with both bottom-up collaboration and top-down direction
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities
What you get back:
Starting salary: £100,000 - £125,000 + RSU's in a growing company
