Job Overview:
The Group FinCrime Governance and Management Information (MI) Manager will have ownership of Financial Crime Compliance’s (“FCC”) governance processes (including all relevant systems, tools and controls from a 2LoD perspective). Their main aim will be to enhance our existing approach to workload management and governance thereof. They will help design and implement tooling to manage requests and decisions made in order to optimise how we support compliant, scalable growth across the business and how we assess our own workload, productivity, capacity and resourcing requirements.
They will help define what matters need to be escalated from the 1LoD to the 2LoD FCC teams for review/sign off as well as help define what matters can be approved by the Group FCC team vs what needs explicit signoff from the MLROs/Compliance Officers. They will help build out tooling to manage these escalations as well as dashboards to show what requests are coming from which teams/the nature of the request/the volume of requests. They will define an SLA matrix for the FCC department (based on complexity and urgency) to follow which will be shared globally with all stakeholders. They will then also build a dashboard to assess whether the FCC teams are within SLA (or not) and how the demand and SLAs may be changing over time.
They will be responsible for conducting resourcing assessments based on the aforementioned data to help the Group Head of Financial Crime assess whether the function has adequate resourcing and whether it is scaling in line with the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance and Compliance;
- Building and managing tools for workload management: Take ownership of the development and improvement of the FinCrime portal so that it delivers tracking of all work done by the FCC team. The person will also be responsible for defining the SLA matrix for all ticket types based on their complexity and urgency which will need to be shared across the firm. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that the tooling tracks the workload as well as who is being allocated what work and what percentage of work is done within the stated SLAs. They will need to create dashboards to assess the volume of work, how much is done in/out of SLA, who may have more capacity /less, how the workload is changing and whether or not we have the resources to support the business needs. They will therefore need to refine our overall governance processes, escalation paths and record keeping thereof.
- Ensure proper governance and tracking: They will also help the Group Financial Crime Issues & Incidents Lead by ensuring that all FinCrime issues and incidents are logged in Wise’s issues management system and tracked through to resolution. They will help ensure appropriate governance is followed for remediation efforts, escalate unresolved issues as necessary.
- Ownership of incident and issue logging: They will also help the Group Financial Crime Issues & Incidents Lead by ensuring that all FinCrime incidents and issues are logged accurately in Wise’s issues management system, with root cause analysis and remediation actions clearly defined.
Management Information (MI);
Develop and deliver MI: Create MI related to financial crime workload and as related to financial crime incidents and issues and deliver regular updates to Compliance Officers (COs) and the Financial Crime Risk Committee (FCRC). Ensure that MI reports are accurate and reflect the current state of incidents, trends, and remediation progress.
Continuous updates: Provide ongoing updates on the FCC workload and SLAs as well as on the status of incidents and issues to ensure senior management has clear visibility on financial crime risks and the effectiveness of remediation efforts.
Experience: several years in financial crime compliance, risk management, or incident management, with a track record of handling global financial crime-related issues and incidents.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of how to build and maintain good governance systems and processes including how to create meaningful MI which clearly articulates the key risks and trends.
Skills: Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and ensure proper governance and compliance.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, or related fields. Relevant certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) are preferred.
