Job Description

We’re looking for a Financial Crime Quality Team Lead with knowledge of US Sanctions and AML regulations to join our growing team. 

Purpose of the role

The main purpose of the Quality Assurance (QA) Team Lead role is to manage the performance of the QA team on an individual and team level, provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the QA team to ensure the delivery of the right amount of QA reviews at the right time. The QA Team Lead is responsible for managing performance and overseeing the activities of the Quality Assurance team. This includes task assignment, workload management, and ensuring that team members are aligned with priorities and objectives, while also actively promoting a positive and motivating work environment. The QA Team Lead guarantees collaboration and opportunities to improve their stakeholders' state and scalability.

Activities performed on the job

  • Manages the Quality Assurance team on an individual and team level

    • Performance management

      • Ensure timely delivery of QA reviews and keeps central task assignment document up-to-date

      • Completes demand vs capacity calculation for the QA team and assigned area

      • Monitor and track the performance of QA specialists to ensure they meet or exceed set KPIs; identify and address performance issues or areas needing improvement through performance evaluations, feedback from stakeholders, or quality metrics analysis. Responsible for performance evaluation and recognition, assessing team performance, providing feedback, and recognizing achievements. Conducting regular performance reviews, setting and documenting development goals, and acknowledging outstanding contributions

      • Use mentoring, coaching and delegation in their team to create best practices for managing performance and for development opportunities.

      • Deliver monthly reports on team performance and KPIs

      • Provides training and development opportunities for team members. This could include designing and delivering training programs, mentoring junior staff, and facilitating knowledge sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities.

    • People management

      • Implements a monitoring system (talent map checkins) to identify team talents and provide support and development opportunities to those in need.

        • Talent map check-ins are completed twice a year by QA Lead

      • Propose decisions for direct reports like salary raise, promotion, leave approval, etc;

      • Hire, lead, develop and manage their quality team, including amongst others administrative tasks such as scheduling, interviewing, hiring, organising team activities, conducting the GrowWises’ etc

        • QA Lead is responsible for holding coaching sessions and 1:1s with their direct reports generally once every two weeks.

        • QA Lead is responsible for holding team meetings on a biweekly / monthly basis.

        • QA Lead is responsible for facilitating the sharing of information, skills, and best practices among team members to enhance collective learning and improve overall performance. QA Lead promotes a culture of knowledge sharing where team members feel encouraged and motivated to share their knowledge and expertise with one another.

        • QA Lead is responsible for pairing experienced team members with junior or less experienced colleagues to facilitate knowledge exchange.

      • QA Lead is responsible for regular team building activities to drive engagement in the team.

      • QA Lead is responsible for action planning based on Wiser Pulse results.

    • Executing on strategy

      • QA Lead is responsible for aligning team objectives with broader organisational goals, ensuring team is clear on the strategy and understands how their work supports it

      • QA Lead is responsible for developing strategies to achieve targets and creating accessible documentation for these strategies

  • Quality reporting

    • Generating regular and timely reports on quality results, performance metrics, and key findings. The QA Team Lead communicates quality-related information to management and operational counterparts to facilitate decision-making and improve transparency.

    • Presents and delivers actionable insights and makes sure improvements are owned and followed up based on the stakeholder management framework.

    • Engage stakeholders to take necessary actions based on report findings and influence results positively.

  • Change management

    • Effectively manages and communicates changes within their team (and to external stakeholders if needed) to ensure successful outcomes.

      • Ensures understanding so their team understands the nature and implications of any changes introduced. This involves providing clear explanations, answering questions, and addressing concerns to facilitate comprehension.

      • Facilitates adaptation and guides your team through changes, provides support, training, and resources as needed to facilitate a smooth transition.

      • Monitors progress and impact on their team's workflows and objectives. This involves gathering feedback, identifying challenges, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful integration.

  • Manages stakeholder relationships

    • QA Lead is responsible for clear communication with stakeholders

    • QA Lead is responsible for engaging with the stakeholders on weekly or monthly meetings to share key findings and insights from QA Reporting

    • Conduct meetings with stakeholders according to a clear cadence, ensuring agendas are set, and notes are taken.

    • QA Lead is responsible for actionable insights to be formed on the stakeholder meetings and to find owners for the agreed actions and follow up and monitor and report impact

    • Serving as the primary point of contact for communication between the quality assurance team and other stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and customers.

    • QA Lead is responsible for collecting stakeholder feedback and acting on shared improvement areas and stakeholder needs

    • QA Lead takes part in assigned area’s tribe or regional planning where needed to ensure that QA Lead understands the plans / goals / strategy of their stakeholders and make sure that their actions support these

    • Proactively informs stakeholders of any changes and respond to queries within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Operational efficiency

    • QA Lead is responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives within their quality assurance team / sharing ideas with peers and management.

    • QA Lead is responsible for their team’s use of tools and technology. This could include providing training on existing tools, and leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.


Qualifications

  • You’re experienced — with at least 10 years in FinCrime or Quality Assurance, with experience working with U.S. Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the FinCEN regulations.
