We’re looking for a Global Head of KYC Operations to join our growing team in Tallinn or Budapest. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission to grow as a leader and help save millions more people money.
Your mission:
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking.
Your mission is to drive a global strategy focusing on efficiency and automation that will help millions more potential customers save money by using Wise.
Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the KYC team:
Build and develop a robust and compliant customer on-boarding program
Lead the design of the vision and strategy, in making the processes faster, easier and cheaper with a clear customer focus
Build and develop a people strategy that allows execution upon the vision - cross functions and locations
Work closely with our product teams to ship and deliver best in market KYC products and experiences to our customers
Work closely with our Risk and Compliance teams to align on risk appetites and capabilities to support the growth of the business
Drive improvement initiatives and manage an efficient process while providing continuous effective risk management and control
Set KPIs and developmental objectives across the current team of 1000+ people (regional teams across 5 offices across the globe) and growing
Manage and optimise 3rd party services and outsourced vendors across the KYC operating model
Utilise data and user research to optimise our on-boarding experience and transform how we currently fight financial crime and fulfil regulatory obligations
Oversight of team's budgets and high level reporting.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Develop in-depth knowledge of Wise’s customers and products and how we are achieving Money Without Borders
You’ll have a big part in defining the vision and also making it happen
Be flexible in how and where you work, we understand everyone needs a little something different so we’ll do our best to make it happen
Inspire teams with your ideas, knowledge and self-starting attitude.
A bit about you:
● You have excellent communication skills and can lead and grow a team of hundreds globally
● You have the ability to put in place processes, measuring performance, setting SLAs, optimising for efficiencies, costs and forecasting
● You are curious and enjoy solving complex problems
● You have some level of knowledge on regulation in KYC or Financial Crime
● You’re data-driven, with a head for numbers, you know how to prioritise the impact you have on our customers through KPIs (we want to see examples of how you’ve moved metrics before)
● You’re customer-focused at heart. At Wise our customers always come first, so you’ll be passionate about making a real difference to their lives
● You can continuously reshape organisational best practices to provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction
● You naturally see ways to optimise and work efficiently
● You can guide the thinking towards automation and outsourcing, where required ● You can define the problem, set SLAs accountability, utilise tools and processes ● You can set hiring strategies and further build, grow and hire leads
● You can balance a regional vs global strategy

● You’ve built operational teams that have enabled a business to grow rapidly
● You've worked in a highly regulated industry
● You've worked with product teams to prioritise cross functional projects that drive efficiency and scaling of manual work.
