Job Description

We are looking for a Risk & Controls Senior Lead to join our Risk & Controls team to lead the strengthening of our 1st line operational risk capabilities. 

As the Risk & Controls Senior Lead, you will be responsible for the leading teams that identify, assess and mitigate and monitor risks and support the organisation in risk related subject matter expertise. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams & stakeholders, - eg. Product teams, Operational teams and other supporting functions like 2nd line Risk, Core Compliance, Knowledge Management, Quality, Internal & External Auditors, Finance etc. - to represent the 1st line and drive mitigation opportunities. Your risk & audit expertise will be essential in ensuring that we are building the right capabilities in teams to minimise operational risks.

In this role, you'll add to our mission by:

  • Managing Risk & Controls teams and supporting Risk & Controls Team Leads in building their teams.

  • Setting the vision and goals for the Risk & Controls teams, ensuring alignment on key topics (risks, controls, incidents, accesses, KRI’s, mitigation projects, audits ) across Operations.

  • Driving risk, control and incident awareness within Operations and across the company. Responsible for the quality of work within R&C teams across different areas.

  • Supporting and coaching Team Leads and more experienced team members. Enabling growth and driving a growth mindset within the organisation.

  • Responsible for overseeing and managing operational risk within the Payment Operations organisation and expanding this best practice to the rest of servicing

  • Building a team and capability and drive identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational risks that could adversely affect the achievement of organisational objectives. 

  • Collaborates with various stakeholders across various teams and departments to develop and implement effective risk management strategies and controls. 

  • In addition, drives and co-ordinates smooth execution of risk related tasks, projects and culture change initiatives

  • Supporting audit activities by ensuring that audits (internal & external) are adequately planned and scoped, assessed, resourced and findings are reviewed tracked and remediated


Qualifications

  • Right to work in Estonia
  • Proven experience in audit and risk management (certified in auditing is a big plus)

  • Leadership experience in managing teams across multiple locations and leading other leads

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets, identify trends, and derive actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

  • Solid understanding of Risk Frameworks (e.g., ERM) 

  • Change management expertise, with the ability to anticipate and address resistance to change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Proactive and results-driven mindset, with a passion for driving positive change and making a meaningful impact on organisational performance.

  • Salary range: 4450 - 5600 € gross monthly
