About the role:
Execute directly and lead the team with contractual agreements and other legal terms for existing and new third parties to ensure compliance with Wise’s policy, global or local regulatory requirements, including major regulations such as the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the European Banking Authority’s (EBA) Guidelines on outsourcing arrangements.
Support Wisers to negotiate legal clauses for critical third-party contracts, collaborating with a wide range of business functions across the organisation, working closely with our Legal, Security and Privacy teams.
Leverage your exceptional leadership and people skills to actively support and guide your team members and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and play a pivotal role in managing and executing large-scale projects, fostering effective collaboration, and ensuring successful outcomes and strong relationships.
Effectively collaborate with the Procurement functions within Third Party, assuring that contract management is seamlessly integrated into the processes and practices of the team.
Set up and improve a framework and a culture of continuous improvement for the negotiation of compliant and commercially strong contracts across all categories.
Identify relevant regulatory risks, develop and implement effective mitigation strategies, in coordination with our Third Party Risk Management team and other relevant stakeholders.
Make sure that the contract negotiation practices are fully connected with the third party risk control environment, both as an outcome and an input to other relevant controls.
Continuously oversee operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity in Wise’s contracts lifecycle management.
Build strong strategic relationships across various business units within Wise to provide practical contract management advice, and assure awareness of contractual risk is embedded in the different teams.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior stakeholders on contract statuses and risks, translating legal needs and risks into effective business cases that can be communicated across the organization.
Where beneficial, develop and deliver contract management training to internal teams.
Contribute to evaluating, selecting, and implementing appropriate technologies to support the Third Party Management Team’s needs, in order enhancing productivity and efficiency of the contract negotiation and renewal processes.

About you:
Experience in leading contract negotiation and contract management, particularly within the financial services or fintech industry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in contracts adhering to England and Wales law, as well as regulatory frameworks such as the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
Proven track record of drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts from a legal perspective.
Strong understanding of third-party contracts complying with regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across different teams
Ability to advise, manage and report risks effectively, providing practical solutions to mitigate them.
Experience with contract lifecycle management tools and processes.
Demonstrable ability to evaluate and summarise contract terms, communicating them in a clear and pragmatic way to different stakeholders.
Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
A get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
