Job Description

  • Lead the project to build end to end views of our control environment to illustrate key risks, controls and processes that impact group financial statements.

  • Understand and guide the teams on implementation of the requirements as per the UK Corporate Governance Code.

  • Build a testing programme to independently assess controls to identify gaps and implement remediation plans.

  • Effectively support and challenge the group finance teams on their journey to evolve and mature our risk and control environment.

  • Partner with both finance and non-finance teams as needed to address risks and controls related to financial reporting.

  • Ensure all control remediation, internal and external audit actions are completed on time and actions are adequate to mitigate the inherent risks

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including finance teams, Risk and Internal Audit, to establish standards, policies, and develop KRIs for measuring and monitoring risks on a continuous basis

A bit about you:

  • Theory - You have a professional finance qualification such as the ACA or equivalent (CPA / ACCA / CIA) with proven post qualification experience. Detailed knowledge of IFRS reporting, general accounting concepts and internal controls is a must. 

  • Practice - You have demonstrable experience leading and managing audit teams on multiple assignments preferably within Financial services. 

  • Love getting things done - You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility to do whatever needs doing to solve problems.

  • Commercial acumen - You understand the value of taking a balanced approach to risk and controls to support the growth of the business

  • Collaborative - You work well in a multinational team environment, and know how to have an impact through others.

  • Development - You are keen to learn and develop your knowledge of how a FinTech and fast growing scale-up operates.
