Wise Assets Europe AS is looking for a Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager to join its compliance function in Tallinn. This role will be working alongside the Compliance Lead of Wise Assets Europe in a small but highly effective team in second line compliance.
As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager you will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing systems and processes to support the compliance function and strengthen our regulatory compliance framework. The person taking on this role will be responsible for ensuring the effective mitigation of regulatory compliance risks of Wise Assets Europe AS.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the regulatory compliance oversight and control frameworks of Wise Assets Europe AS;
Ensure that regulatory compliance risks are understood and taken into account in the day-to-day operation of the business;
Act as the key point of contact for regulatory audits and inspections;
Take ownership of the entity’s regulatory compliance documentation, policies and procedures;
Establish themselves as the compliance subject matter expert on safekeeping of customer assets and outsourcing oversight;
Carry out horizon scanning and gap analysis for regulatory changes;
Develop systems to track and monitor our compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies;
Advise train the product team about the relevant applicable regulatory requirements, and support documentation of decision-making and risk assessments within teams;
Represent regulatory compliance oversight both internally and externally to regulators, auditors and partners as required.
Theory.
You are an expert in regulatory compliance in the financial services industry and may be currently working or have worked within the compliance oversight function preferably in a fast paced environment;
You are well-versed in the European and Estonian regulations on investment services (MiFID II, the Estonian Securities Market Act, IFR).
Practice.
You have at least six years of experience in the domain of regulatory compliance in the financial services industry.
You have demonstrable experience designing and challenging processes, ideally across multiple products. You have thought deeply about the Wise´s mission and how it intersects with compliance;
You preferably have experience with managing regulatory compliance risks in relation to investment products;
You are experienced in interactions with regulators, auditors and senior management;
You have a demonstrated track record of second line of defence independence and challenge/ escalation where concerns are felt.
Passion. You are curious and proactive by nature, you love solving puzzles and you get a kick out of figuring things out and enjoy expressing your thoughts concisely and logically.
Communication. You are a comfortable and effective communicator in both your writing and speaking. You can convey complex ideas effectively to both internal and external audiences.
Get the job done. You have a sense of urgency and an ability to work well under pressure, prioritising, taking responsibility and working to tight deadlines.
Detail. You have meticulous attention to detail and if you’ve skimmed through without reading this bullet point, I’m sure a bank would love to have you.
Team player. You have great people skills and can effectively and efficiently collaborate, build relationships with colleagues throughout the business and across the globe.
Languages: Fluency in English is a requirement, fluency in Estonian is an advantage.
Travel. You must be willing to travel to our other offices as required (once per quarter)
Location: Tallinn. You’re located and legally authorised to work in Estonia.
Paying €4,900 to €6,700 monthly
