Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a Backend engineer to join the Account Experience team. The team is the primary gateway into Wise, responsible for the dashboard users see when they first log on. We provide summaries of customers’ recent actions, own the primary mechanisms to send push notifications and emails, and manage insights to help our customers identify ways to get more out of Wise.

We work closely with our cross-functional partners to review user research and feedback and plan a roadmap that targets the biggest opportunities to improve our customer experience.

What will you be working on?

Our team is the central hub of the Wise experience for personal accounts. We own most of the primary touch points for customers:

  • The landing page for logged-in users

  • Providing summaries of recent user activities

  • Spending insights for customers

  • Push notifications and email platform used by all product teams at Wise

  • Customer feedback across the app

 

What do you need?

  • You have 5+ years of software development experience (preferably using Java)

  • A strong product mindset and passion for customer experience, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points

  • Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience

  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas

  • You enjoy writing clean and testable code

  • You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems
