Job Description

A bit about the job

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Strategist with expertise in market research and consumer insight to join our dynamic Marketing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to move into a client-side role in the fast-paced world of fintech, or for an experienced in-house researcher to take on a new challenge with global reach.

As a key member of our Marketing Strategy team, you will be the voice of the customer. You will be comfortable and experienced in designing and conducting your own qualitative research, from in-depth interviews to facilitating customer closeness sessions that bring our business closer to the people we serve. Your expertise will also extend to quantitative research, including designing and analysing surveys to uncover powerful data-driven insights.

You will be a natural storyteller, able to translate complex research findings into compelling briefs, actionable strategies, and inspirational creative ideas. Working closely with our in-house Creative and Media teams, as well as our talented analysts, your work will be the foundation of our world-class brand and performance marketing campaigns across the UK, Europe, the Americas, and APAC.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading on consumer research: Designing, commissioning, and carrying out a range of qualitative and quantitative research projects to get to the heart of customer motivations, behaviours, and needs. Sometimes this will be carried out yourself, other times with an agency.

  • Championing customer closeness: Developing and implementing initiatives to connect the wider business with our customers, fostering a culture of customer-centricity.

  • Creative testing: Support our Creative teams and agencies by testing and shaping creative while it’s in development.

  • Translating insight into strategy: Transforming research findings and data into compelling, actionable insights that inform everything from high-level brand strategy to tactical campaign optimisations.

  • Crafting inspirational briefs: Authoring clear and inspiring briefs for our in-house and agency creative and media partners that are rooted in genuine customer understanding.

  • Analysing campaign effectiveness: Working alongside our analysts to dive into the impact of our campaigns and creative on brand and commercial metrics, using these learnings to inform future strategies.

  • Global and local market understanding: Partnering with our Regional Leads to understand the nuances of specific markets and deliver research and strategies that are globally consistent yet locally relevant.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Proven experience in a market research or consumer insight role, either agency or client-side.

  • Understanding of how research agencies operate, and an ability to manage them to deliver projects end-to-end.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of research methodologies, including qualitative techniques (e.g., in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnography) and quantitative methods (e.g., survey design, data analysis, brand tracking).

  • A genuine passion for understanding the customer and a talent for uncovering compelling human truths.

  • The ability to synthesise complex information from various sources into simple, powerful strategies and creative springboards.

  • A strong understanding of the marketing funnel and how to apply insights to different stages of the customer journey.

  • Experience working on global brands and an appreciation for cultural nuances in research and strategy.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at a senior level.

  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience in the Tech, Finance, or B2B sectors would be a plus.
