Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Design Program Manager (DPM) to join our Account Squad in London. You’ll be part of Wise’s global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system. Because people without borders need money without borders.

At Wise, we’ve got a clear mission — money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives. It is a genuinely exciting time to be part of Wise. Building more transparent and convenient ways to pay and get paid has never been more important in achieving our mission.

Your Mission

We’re looking for a talented Design Program Manager to join our team in London on a 12 month fixed term contract (FTC). You’ll be joining our global product tribe and specifically the squad that designs and improves our Account product. You will be leading a large strategic initiative that's anchored in our account squad and intersects with several other squads in a large coordinated initiative within our global product tribe.

This role is highly collaborative, and the successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working strategically to solve problems, build solutions, and maintain the day-to-day. Your ability to navigate ambiguity, engage stakeholders, communicate clearly, and understand the big picture are your greatest assets. Oh, and Design throws the best parties so you don’t mind getting roped into an event or two.

How We Work

The purpose of Design Program Management (DPM) at Wise is to align design efforts with business objectives, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and innovation. By driving complex, large-scale design programs that span multiple teams, squads, and tribes, DPMs enable seamless collaboration between design, product, and engineering. Through collaborative prioritisation and execution, DPMs ensure that design initiatives not only enhance our user experience but also contribute directly to business growth and product success.

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to Wise Design

  • Program Management - Breaking down ongoing projects into larger connected programs, and coordinating design resources to meet project timelines and quality expectations.

  • Stakeholder Management - Collaborating with design leadership, product managers, and engineering teams to ensure design priorities align with product goals.

  • Cross-functional Communication - Facilitating communication among design, engineering, and product teams to ensure cohesive project development.

  • Risk Management - Through structured planning, risk mitigation, and process optimisation, DPMs are identifying risks in design processes and mitigate potential blockers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and accessibility guidelines.

  • Delivery Optimisation - Optimising design processes, workflows, and standards to increase efficiency and consistency across projects and programs. Creating a toolkit of templates and processes that evolve over time to help deliver work in the most efficient way.

  • Tracking and Reporting - Establishing KPIs to track design performance and effectiveness, and tracking design progress, manage risks, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your path to impact - we believe people are most empowered when they have the ability to act with high autonomy and accountability

  • Grow your skill sets and gain experience, while you collaborate across teams and disciplines in a fast growing company

  • Elevate product quality. You define what ‘good’ looks like to your team. And you help them deliver it.

  • Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken, greedy system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.

About you:

  • Experienced program management professional

  • Systems-thinker who can also build a narrative around why systems matter

  • A builder of process with an acute understanding of the people and teams who will interact with the systems

  • Strong business acumen and ability to balance needs of the brand, the business, and the Design team

  • Someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys bringing order to chaos

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, understanding of importance of clear communication in a hybrid work environment

  • Experience working in a fast-paced mission-driven global organisation

  • Genuine passion for your work and the brands that you worked for, you're motivated by our mission

  • Experience in successfully managing cross-functional projects with complex stakeholder involvement, and complicated timelines and deliverables

  • Experience in a high growth environment and FinTech specifically is a plus

  • You might have a very nonlinear career. That’s cool -  we believe that prior experience can make you stronger, faster and wiser.
