Job Description

We’re looking for PayOps Risk & Controls Senior Specialists to join our growing team in Tallinn, Estonia.

Your mission: 

Your mission is to ensure that Wise handles incidents well. You will oversee the incident management process, identify opportunities and drive improvement projects to ensure timely detection and resolution of incidents as well as high quality of response. You will ensure that incident root causes are addressed and identified issues are escalated. Your focus will be on risk mitigation initiatives across different Payment Operations teams and you’re expected to drive projects that impact the whole organisation.

Here’s how you’ll add value to the team:

  • Ensuring efficient operational response to incidents.

  • Maintaining incident management framework.

  • Working with product, operational and engineering teams to identify incident root causes and find impactful solutions.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve incident detection and resolution and actioning those.

  • Driving risk awareness across Payment Operations and ensuring alignment across the whole organisation;

  • Cooperation with various other teams in Wise, including Risk, Compliance, Finance;

  • Driving risk mitigation projects and ensuring their timely completion;

  • Performing monitoring routines over various topics, reporting the results;

Qualifications

  • You have at least 4 years of experience working on incident topic (managing incidents, establishing frameworks, streamlining processes, tracking metrics)

  • You’re data-driven, able to prioritise the value add, measure the impact and have a proven track record of moving metrics and reaching your KPI goals.

  • You’re comfortable with performing regular and routine daily tasks. You have a keen eye for detail and are resilient when facing difficult tasks.

  • You have experience as a project manager and are able to drive larger projects.

  • You take responsibility for your domain and take initiative.

  • You’re a great communicator with excellent written and verbal English skills. You’ll quickly pick up on how best to communicate effectively across different audiences, and when either giving or receiving feedback.

  • You can explain problems clearly and include others in the team to discuss solutions. You’re able to persuade others and you aren’t afraid to challenge something when you need to.

  • You have experience in working across different teams, from operational, product development to external partners, and you're comfortable taking responsibility in challenging situations.

  • Your intellectual curiosity has no limit and this is your guiding light. You have the self-awareness to understand when you don’t know something and the humility to learn.

  • Based in Tallinn
  • Start date: preferably April
  • Salary: 3,400 € - 4000 € gross monthly + Stock units
