Our Business Operations team ensures we deliver our mission.
We’re looking for a Director of Business Operations (Global Product) to join us and do things differently.
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Director, Business Operations - Global Product to join our leadership team in London. This is a crucial leadership role to scale our established business operations function. After two years of successful groundwork, your team will be the ultimate problem-solver and enabler for the product organization, acting as the operational backbone that ensures the flawless execution of our product strategy for customers globally.
This role requires a unique leader who thrives at the intersection of product and operations. You'll move beyond direct team management to build the operational frameworks that enable our global teams to scale and succeed.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies
Cross-Functional Teamwork: Lead a significant part of the operations organization, mentoring and coaching leads to overcome prioritization challenges and speed up project delivery. You will foster cross-team collaboration across different domains (e.g., KYC, FinCrime, PayOps, CS) to prevent duplicated efforts and drive shared goals.
Executional Excellence: Own the resolution of blockers across multiple operational and product areas. You will build and scale robust operating frameworks for two or more teams, sharing best practices to increase execution momentum. You'll hold these teams accountable for the quality of their execution and incubate new functional domains as determined by customer needs.
Analytical Skills: Oversee and contribute to the successful prioritization across multiple operational or product teams. You will define a 12-month plan and objectives for a large area, ensuring a clear vision and buy-in across the team. You'll provide coaching to help your teams make informed trade-offs between capacity and cost, and develop operational capabilities to reduce dependence on product teams.
Customer-Centricity: Identify opportunities to build capability within the wider team to solve the most important customer problems. You will define and implement frameworks to track and improve customer feedback, influencing the product roadmap based on customer needs and operational capabilities.
Success Definition and Measurement: You will own and move key metrics for more than one domain, or influence teams to drive metrics that impact customer outcomes. You'll critically evaluate metrics at regular intervals and proactively address known risks, such as preparing for expected changes in regulation to meet workload demands.
Leadership: Define and implement operating models for two or more teams across different domains. You will develop a 12-24 month hiring roadmap and a corresponding plan with key results to support the ambitious objectives you set. You will provide actionable feedback to teams to continuously improve execution.
Talent Development: Grow and mentor local operational leaders, hire new talent, and establish effective local ways of working, including hybrid models and career growth opportunities.
Execution in a Flat Structure: Embrace our flat organizational structure by being a leader who can both strategize and execute, getting your hands dirty to solve problems and drive projects forward.
The experience, background and competencies needed to succeed in this role.
We are looking for a seasoned leader with a proven ability to operate at a senior level in a dynamic, product-driven environment.
Experience: 10-15 years of professional experience, with a proven track record of managing managers and leading large-scale operational functions.
Background: You must have extensive experience working in both product and operations organizations. Proven ability to drive go-to-market and launch new products, as well as to optimize ongoing operations. Experience influencing product roadmaps and a passion for finding operational efficiencies.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for complexity. Proven ability to drive significant change and manage cross-functional projects with meaningful business impact.
Leadership: A leader who is an excellent communicator, highly diplomatic, and can influence stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.
