Your mission:

  • Become the dedicated financial partner for direct costs of Wise’s products, helping a diverse set of stakeholders to better understand the cost economics of our products.

  • Own the cost allocation logic and ensure accurate implementation by the data analysts.

  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports providing insights into cost economics trends for a range of stakeholders.

  • Support cost owners across a wide variety of teams in scaling their costs and have a direct impact on our mission to lower fees for our customers.

  • Drive the financial forecasting process for direct costs by working closely with the data analysts running the forecasting model.

  • Work closely with Product teams to validate forecasting inputs, ensuring that models are grounded in the latest customer and product data.

  • Conduct regular actuals to forecast variance analysis and continuously enhance the accuracy and reliability of Cost of Sales forecasts.

  • Act as the bridge between Finance, Analytics, Product, Treasury, and Banking teams to ensure consistent communication and alignment.

  • Ensure accurate data reconciliation between Finance and Product cost datasets on a monthly basis.

  • Use your deep knowledge of direct costs to support the Pricing team in their reprice process and drive lower and fair prices for our customers.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Have a significant impact on the understanding and managing of direct costs of Wise’s products.

  • Work with a talented, diverse team and be the go-to person of your area for any stakeholder in Wise.

  • Own your own path to success – you’ll have a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

  • Learn and grow – there’s a lot to be done!

A bit about you:

  • Extensive experience in partnering with stakeholders and managing direct costs in the Payments industry.

  • Experience in overseeing cost economics and forecasting cycles, and ensuring costs are accurately tracked and effectively controlled.

  • Proven analytical experience in working with large datasets and diving deep into data.

  • Experience in working collaboratively with data analysts and drive data-driven financial insights

Skills:

  • Passionate about what we’re building at Wise.

  • Love digging in data, numbers, thinking systematically, and analysing inter-dependencies.

  • Strong communicator: articulate, clear, strategic – with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • Keen to roll up sleeves and get the job done, we all do our own operational work still.

  • Open minded to take the best out of any practices and apply it to Wise Ways of Working.

  • Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and can come up with a clear plan to improve processes.

  • Humble, comfortable operating with a level of uncertainty, keen to learn. Firm and forceful when required.

  • Able to work across multiple teams, offices, time-zones (and travel when needed!) with flexibility and a can do attitude.

Nice to have:

  • You have a professional finance qualification such as the ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent (MBA or masters in Finance) with proven post qualification experience and demonstrable knowledge of IFRS reporting and general accounting concepts.
