Job Description

Salary range: SGD 114k - 164k per annum + RSUs

A bit about the role:

We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Financial Risk Manager to join our team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and second line risk management advice and oversight to the entities and countries in Asia. 🚀

This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of regional market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Your mission:

  • Be a critical partner to the APAC Head of Risk in supporting the delivery of the risk management strategy across our operations in the Asia region.

  • Conduct regular financial risk assessments and stress tests to identify and evaluate risks specific to the Asia region.

  • Build or enhance metrics & methodologies, KRIs and policies, covering market risk (FX and IR), counterparty risk and liquidity risk, either in line with group methodologies or otherwise, in order to capture regional  specificities

  • Lead the set up or review of risk appetite statements and ensure the risk profile is within limits on a current and prospective basis 

  • Perform monitoring of KRIs related to Financial Risks  (including regulatory and internal capital and liquidity minimum requirements)

  • Build automated and robust processes for financial risk monitoring and reporting, and associated analytics

  • Define and implement metrics for evaluating and controlling financial risks, in line with group methodology

  • Prepare and provide training for colleagues on Financial risk management, or develop a form of management that raises the level of risk and control mindset

  • Work closely with the first line of defence to develop  a deep understanding of the business, supporting projects of new products and markets 

  • Prepare presentations to local and group risk committees


Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in financial risk management preferably with a focus on the Asia region, ideally with first line and second line experience.

  • Background in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, with previous experience in Fintechs and Financial Institutions

  • Experience in working with financial risk regulatory requirements (regional risk/capital regulatory requirements)

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop practical solutions in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

  • Ability and experience in analysing data, to extract patterns and trends to better understand risk and emerging risk exposures

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders in the Asia region.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable navigating the complexities of a regional subsidiary operation. 

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to drive results internally with global teams, while fostering a culture of local ownership and initiative.
