More about our mission and what we offer.
We’re looking for a Training Team Lead to join our AML Investigations team in Tallinn. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission by supporting the AML Investigations Operations team in improving and maintaining its newbie onboarding and training programme.
You will be the architect of our "Onboarding Engine," ensuring that as our AML Operations teams expand globally, every new joiner reaches "Day 1 Readiness" swiftly, consistently, and with a rock-solid understanding of ML/TF risk.
As a Lead, you will manage a team of trainers, focusing on optimizing training admin while ensuring our training programme remains engaging, compliant and scalable. You will work closely with AML Service Delivery and SME, and cross-team stakeholders such as WFM, Knowledge Management, etc.
Responsibilities include:
- People Leadership: You’ll be managing a global team of Training Specialists. You’ll be responsible for their growth, performance, and ensuring they stay technically sharp and consistent in their work.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the full lifecycle of onboarding programs—from design to delivery. You’ll focus on optimization and scalability of our training programme and framework that empowers newbies without losing the essential risk-based approach and quality.
- Reporting & Governance: Establish and maintain governance frameworks for all training initiatives. You’ll ensure all work is documented, evidenceable for regulatory requirements, and that our training library is regularly refreshed to stay current with internal and external changes.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Act as a key partner for Service Delivery, WFM, SME, etc. You’ll confidently navigate complex conversations to align training objectives with wider team and business goals. You’ll act as a first point for requests from external and internal stakeholders when it comes to AML onboarding.
- Innovative Delivery: Oversee the delivery of training through diverse avenues, including in-person workshops, e-learning modules, and blended learning approaches, ensuring our training scales effectively as we grow.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying and solving inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in the team and trainings in order to ultimately improve the daily work of our agents. You must also be able to quickly grasp the impact of projects on trainings and agents’ everyday work.
- We are looking for a strong leader with ideally 1-2 years of experience leading teams, but we are open to experienced Training Specialists ready to step up, or seasoned People Leads from other high-growth operational areas who are passionate about scaling an onboarding engine.
- You have a good understanding of the regulatory framework surrounding AML and Fincrime more broadly, and are familiar with money laundering methods and financial crime trends.
- In a true Wise fashion, you are proactive and "get things done." You do not only see the problems but also have constructive ideas to solve them. You’re eager to work towards our team mission.
- You are proficient in using data for performance assessment and problem-solving, with the ability to turn deep-dive insights into actionable program improvements.
- You have excellent verbal and written English skills, capable of producing professional reports and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- You’re able to work under pressure and you don’t fear change. You can multitask and prioritise efficiently and take responsibility in challenging situations.
- You’re a true team player while also being strongly self-led. You have excellent organisational skills, but also the ability to be flexible with priorities and play things around.
If you’re ready to take on an exciting challenge and make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you! Please submit your resume in English.
