Job Description

We are seeking a highly driven and strategic Operational Resilience Senior Manager to lead a number of strategic projects across Wise’s global resilience framework. This role is at the forefront of ensuring Wise can prevent, adapt to, and recover from operational disruptions, keeping money moving for our 16 million customers around the world.

As a Senior Manager, your mission is to further establish, operationalise, and continuously improve Wise’s global Operational Resilience framework.  You will work directly with product managers, engineers, and senior leadership to embed resilience directly into Wise's technology and operational workflows.

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Operational Resilience team in the first line:

  • Strategy & Framework Leadership: Lead the management of, and enhancements to,  Wise’s global Operational Resilience framework, ensuring alignment with regional requirements such as DORA, FCA, and MAS.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with global regulatory requirements pertaining to third-party risk and operational resilience (e.g., DORA, EBA Guidelines, OCC, FCA, MAS). Translate complex policy requirements into practical, embedded operational controls, ensuring Wise's program remains compliant.

  • Scenario Testing & Assurance: Oversee advanced global testing programs, including multi-region tabletop exercises and full-scale simulations, ensuring our recovery plans are effective in reality, not just on paper.

  • Remediation: Drive the remediation of identified resilience gaps to completion.

  • Metric Management: Work directly with Product and Engineering teams to set and report on key resilience metrics, building automation into reporting processes.

  • Governance & Reporting: Own the reporting of program status and maturity to Senior Management and Board-level committees,

  • Regulatory & Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business owners, technology teams, risk functions. Support the CTO and Global Head of Resilience in interactions with regulators and banking partners, explaining our program’s maturity and effectiveness

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Make a real impact on a global product used by millions.

  • Work right at the heart of the organisation, in the 1st line of defence, in a fast-moving environment.

  • Be empowered to identify complex resilience 'problems' and take the lead in solution design and implementation.

About you:

Experience:

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in a top-tier management consultancy, FinTech or similar financial services change management role, with specific domain knowledge on operational resilience, business continuity, operational risk, third party risk, and related fields.

  • Programme Management: You have a proven track record of leading large-scale, complex global programmes. You are comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously—from regulatory change to technical implementation—ensuring they stay on track, within scope, and aligned with Wise’s strategic goals.

  • Domain Expertise: Proven experience designing and implementing resilience frameworks (e.g., DORA, ISO 22301) within a fast-paced technology or financial services environment.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Product Managers and Engineers, providing practical, value-added recommendations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and regulatory expectations to drive business decisions.

  • Experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously across different time zones and regulatory jurisdictions.

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence senior leadership.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, global environment.

  • Willing to travel internationally (at least once a quarter): Wise offices are located across multiple territories and rapidly expanding.

  • Legally authorised to work in the the UK (please note we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role)
