The mission for the role is to drive the data and technology-centric agenda in Internal Audit (IA) to realise positive transformations to cater for a fast growing team. The role is cross-disciplinary, combining internal auditing, analytics, automation, and agile project management. You will focus on IA-wide processes and operations to enhance capabilities over the full audit lifecycles through products, such as tracking audit universe and coverage, resource planning, and external reporting including boards and committees.

In this role, you will partner with IA analysts operating closely together to offer full and seamless data and technology-driven services, deliverables, and capabilities to IA. You will also partner with all IA teams across different domains and regions, and strategic pillars to understand and solve their problems and needs with the right output and solutions. The role includes a degree of hands-on delivery by yourself or as part of a cross-functional wider team. You will inspire and empower IA in adopting a greater use of data and technology through upskilling. You will also collate reliable official management information for external reporting.

Your mission 

• Collaborate with the Global Head of Internal Audit (IA), IA team leads, professional practice, and strategic pillars (e.g., methodology). The goal is to identify transformational opportunities and translate them into user stories, building a comprehensive agile product backlog.

• Follow an agile approach to prioritise and schedule work that is resourced to deliver early positive impact. Ensure timely, quality delivery from all team members.

• Develop tactical and strategic, highly reliable, and usable solutions for core audit tools, including OpsAudit and Retain.

• Ensure products must align with the Internal Audit (IA) methodology and broader firm-wide policies and standards.

• Work closely with the IA analytics lead and analysts to define the specifications for impactful analytics and automation solutions. These complementary solutions will be implemented and operated by the analysts.

• Test product features, including IA analyst-built solutions, for reliability and fitness before launch. Track, prioritise, and ensure appropriate defect remediation.

• Ensure the seamless deployment of key changes across IA by prioritising clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement.

• Maintain the ongoing security and reliability of core IA toolings, such as OpsAudit and Retain, through proactive management and maintenance.

• Support IA leadership and wider teams on punctual, reliable and impactful data-driven official management information to enable robust reporting to boards, committees and external parties such as regulators.

• Respond timely and in a helpful manner to user problems in IA, including triaging and escalating to other teams when required.

• Inspire and empower wider IA on the impactful use of data and technology by developing, and delivering IA-wide training, coaching and mentoring initiatives.

• You have in-depth and hands-on knowledge and experience working in internal audit following a formal methodology on internal auditing and analytics, delivering analytics and automation output by yourself and as a lead providing oversight.

• You have hands-on knowledge of internal audit operations, such as managing the audit universe and tracking audit coverage.

• You have a proven track record in building strong relationships and collaborations with a wide variety of stakeholders. You manage and influence stakeholders with ease, and communicate effectively with audiences of varying levels of technical expertise.

• You have a proven experience in utilising an agile project management methodology to assign, prioritise, track, and oversee deliverables.

• You champion a product management mindset, prioritising the end-user experience and the early delivery of tangible benefits.

• You are a proven strong problem solver to overcome challenges throughout audit engagements and longer-term initiatives to achieve impactful outcomes timely.

• You are able to work independently or as part of a broader team effectively to good quality that require minimal revisions.

• You have hands-on working experience in scripting SQL and Python, and managing changes through a Version Control System (VCS) such as GitHub.

• You have demonstrated practical experience in the development and maintenance of highly reliable, insightful visual analytics and management reporting.

• You have experience in coaching and mentoring on the use of data and technology with varying levels of technical knowledge.

• You have worked in a multinational environment across different cultures and countries.

Preferred Experience but not essential:

• You have worked in regulated environments, Fintech or Financial Services.

• You have experience in producing reports to boards, committees or external third parties.

• You have experience in maintaining core internal audit systems and toolings.
