Job Description

Salary Ranges: 8,500 - 10,000 SGD Monthly + RSUs

We are looking for a Payment Operations Risk & Controls Senior Specialist to join our growing team in Singapore.

Your mission: 

Your mission is to identify operational risks and controls, working with operational, product, compliance and risk teams to coordinate assessment, mitigation and monitoring of risks. You’ll drive risk awareness culture within the Payment Operations and across the company. Your focus will be on a specific region and products within Payment Operations and on driving risk and control related topics in that region.

Here’s how you’ll add value to the team:

  • Helping teams analyse new and existing products and operational processes, assessing risks and working with stakeholders to reduce risks to acceptable level;
  • Proactively identifying risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, and initiating strategic projects to address them.
  • Independently implementing and executing various risk-related tasks, such as monitoring controls, conducting risk assessments, analyzing data, and investigating potential issues.
  • Assessing and testing existing controls, working with stakeholders to improve existing controls and implement new ones;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulation in Payment Operations. Supporting the operational teams on how to interpret regulatory requirements, improving processes and our product to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents.
  • Driving risk awareness across Payment Operations and ensuring alignment across the whole organisation. Promoting and helping embed a strong risk culture, making risk meaningful and relevant to everyone at Wise.
  • Cooperation with various other teams in Wise, including Group Risk, Compliance, Product, Finance, Treasury;
  • Driving risk mitigation projects and ensuring their timely completion. Ownership of issue remediation activities using our risk management tool (Audit Board) to ensure appropriate risk focused prioritisation.
  • Performing monitoring routines over various topics, reporting the results.

Qualifications

About you: 

  • You have experience with conducting risk assessments and control testing
  • You have experience across enterprise risk management, inherent and residual risk assessment and risk reporting
  • You have a track record working across the operational risk spectrum. Payment products and payment operations are a bonus
  • You have worked with regulatory compliance and are able to translate the requirements and adhere to regulatory guidelines
  • You are able to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively
  • You are able to prioritise effectively and call out what the key areas of improvement and implementation required are from a regulatory point of view
  • You’re data-driven, able to prioritise the value add, measure the impact and have a proven track record of moving metrics and reaching your KPI goals.
  • You have experience in project work and are willing to learn more to become a project manager for the topics in your scope.
  • You have a keen eye for detail and are resilient when facing difficult tasks.
  • You’re a great communicator with excellent written and verbal English skills. You’ll quickly pick up on how best to communicate effectively across different audiences, and when either giving or receiving feedback.
  • You’re a strong relationship builder across all levels of the business and externally. You lead by example and can demonstrate the Wise values in all your actions.
  • You have a strategic mindset and are able to understand the big picture, connecting the risk strategy with the wider organisational strategy and proposing enhancements that will provide long-term benefits for the organisation
  • You can explain problems clearly and include others in the team to discuss solutions. You’re able to persuade others and you aren’t afraid to challenge something when you need to.
  • You have a can-do attitude and experience in working across different teams, from operational, product development to external partners, and you're comfortable taking responsibility in challenging situations.
  • You have a sense of urgency and an ability to work well under pressure, prioritising, taking responsibility and working to tight deadlines.
  • Your intellectual curiosity has no limit and this is your guiding light. You have the self-awareness to understand when you don’t know something and the humility to learn.
