The Role
As the global People Communications Lead, you will play a critical role in helping employees across locations understand, trust, and adopt people programmes and changes. You’ll partner closely with teams such as Talent, People Services, Reward, DEI and People Partners to support the communication approach for all People team initiatives, ranging from global benefits and performance cycles to large-scale organisational change projects. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role designed for a seasoned communicator who excels at translating complex initiatives into compelling narratives that drive engagement and clarity.
Based in our Hyderabad hub, you will act as a critical bridge between global leadership and our diverse workforce, ensuring that every message is delivered with empathy, cultural nuance, and strategic intent.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the overarching communication roadmap for the People function, ensuring all messaging aligns with the Wise culture and mission
- Support major People projects as the dedicated communications lead
- Produce high-quality, engaging content to tell a compelling story across formats, e.g. written messaging in Slack and email, video, team call presentations, scripts, FAQs and digital signage
- Serve as a trusted advisor to People functions and the Chief People Officer, providing expert counsel on message framing, tone, and delivery
- Work seamlessly across time zones to ensure People initiatives are communicated globally and localised effectively
- Apply best-practice change communications to guide employees through change and transformations
- Masterfully craft and deliver messages regarding complex or sensitive topics, ensuring transparency while maintaining trust and legal compliance
- Work collaboratively and align with the central Internal Communications team to manage and evolve People-related communication channels and messages to ensure they are fit for purpose and reaching the right audiences at the right time
- Establish KPIs and measure the effectiveness of People communications, regularly review and adjust approach as needed based on feedback and data
- Maintain templates and guidelines to ensure a consistent approach and tone of voice across the People function, upskill the broader team on how to create impactful communications
About You
- Strong Internal Communications experience, with a significant focus on supporting HR or People teams in a global or matrixed environment
- Demonstrated experience in leading communications for large-scale change projects - you understand how to move people through the change journey from awareness to adoption
- You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders in ambiguous contexts and can navigate the complexities of a global organisation across multiple regions and time zones (APAC, EMEA, Americas)
- You have an exceptional command of English with the ability to simplify technical HR jargon into human, relatable stories
- You have a ‘cool head’ and a proven track record of managing communications for sensitive employee issues or challenging situations
- You thrive as an individual contributor, possessing the project management skills to lead through influence
- You are experienced in using Slack, Gsuite, Confluence (or similar), as well as video editing software, AI and LLMs.
