Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move money around the world. We’re looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our team in Sao Paulo. In this role, you will play a key part in promoting a seamless and customer-focused experience across the employee lifecycle, while supporting our people (we call them Wisers) to do what they do best at Wise, with a primary focus on the Brazil market, as well as new markets such as Mexico and Chile, and enable the Global People Operations’ vision to create fast, convenient and transparent Wiser support, powered by smart tech and human advice.
Your operational knowledge is evolving, allowing you to extend your reach and impact across the "Wiser" lifecycle. In this role, you will handle typical operational challenges, you are encouraged to think outside the box and look beyond usual processes to find solutions. Your expertise will be a cornerstone of cross-team projects, ensuring operational excellence across the People tribe. You will also contribute to the broader Americas region.
Key Responsibilities:
Wiser Support & Lifecycle Management
Customer-Centric Support: Champion the People team’s ticketing desk with a one-team mentality, responding to queries efficiently.
Lifecycle Actions: Process all Workday actions and manage internal transfers and relocation requests, ensuring all onboarding and offboarding steps are completed.
Policy Guidance: Provide expert guidance on leave policies and resolve complex international remote working requests via the Mobile Wiser initiative.
Compliance & Documentation: Oversee immigration processes and produce employment documentation such as reference letters and contract changes.
Payroll Partnership: Support the Payroll team with documentation for joiners, benefits, and leavers.
Knowledge Sharing: Maintain transparent and convenient content on Confluence, ensuring information is updated globally and locally.
Wider Team & Business Impact
Mentorship & Quality: Mentor and cross-train junior team members, serving as a reviewer in "four-eye" check processes to ensure team accuracy.
Operational Compliance: Review and respond to audit requests to maintain high compliance standards.
Project Delivery: Contribute to local and global cross-team initiatives, embracing technology and automation where possible.
Legal Awareness: Stay informed about local employment laws and update processes to ensure we remain compliant.

A bit about you:
Experience: 2–3 years of experience working in a shared services environment or a People team.
Mindset: A positive, can-do attitude with a strong growth mindset and resilience for a hyper-growth environment.
Technical Interest: Passion for data and technology, with a desire to embrace automation.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Attention to Detail: Eagle-eyed attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Problem Solver: Adaptable and solution-focused, with the ability to sequence tasks by priority and impact.
Collaborator: Self-aware and trustworthy, enabling seamless collaboration within and across teams
