Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audiovisual Technician to lead the support and maintenance of our corporate audiovisual landscape. In this role, you will act as the technical subject matter expert for our meeting rooms, event spaces, and digital signage networks.

Wise’s Audiovisual team ensures that all the audiovisual equipment is ready for events and meetings in our offices across the world. The team also makes sure that the events run in a smooth and orderly manner from pre-production to execution. While the day to day duties vary slightly based on the situation and location, the Audiovisual Technician is responsible for maintaining the equipment in our offices, designing audiovisual systems for new spaces with internal and external stakeholders and supporting other day-to-day operations.

This is a senior-level position that requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise (specifically in Q-SYS and Google Meet), advanced networking knowledge, and the ability to prioritize critical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Q-SYS programming and proficiency in scripting for unified communications and digital signage platforms is a welcome bonus. The ideal candidate will be an expert-level Q-SYS specialist capable of designing, implementing, and commissioning complex, high-reliability AV systems.

What you’ll do:

- Q-SYS System Design and Maintenance: Serve as the senior expert for Q-SYS Core processors, developing complex control logic, audio signal processing (DSP), and user control interfaces (UCI).

  • With external partners design and implement custom Q-SYS plugins and components to interface with third-party devices and specialized control requirements.

  • Lead the commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting of Q-SYS-centric AV installations, ensuring optimal audio quality and system functionality.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of Q-SYS system architecture, and networking configuration.

- Network Troubleshooting: Collaborate directly with the Network Engineering team to define, document, and implement AV network requirements (VLANs, QoS, port configurations).

  • Troubleshoot complex networked AV issues involving multicast, IGMP snooping, spanning tree, and latency, particularly for AV over IP protocols.

  • Maintain the documentation around enterprise-level AV networks, ensuring high availability and secure deployment of Q-SYS and UC endpoints.

  • Understanding of PoE/PoE+ budgets (Power over Ethernet) to ensure switches can support all touch panels and cameras.

  • Comfortable working with Subnet Masks, Gateway settings, and DHCP reservations.

- Deliver the best AV experiences for in-room and remote participants using Google Meet, Vimeo and various other hardware that we use in our offices (Logitech, Neat, Appspace, Brightsign etc)

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, Facilities, Office Expansions) from concept to completion.

  • Provide high-level technical support and expertise for complex AV system issues.

  • Stay current with emerging AV technologies, particularly related to networked audio, control, and scripting methodologies.

  • Maintain and upgrade AV solutions in our offices while working together with Wise’s Workplace team to keep the AV systems up-to-date and automated where necessary and possible (office refurbishments and new offices)

  • Develop and maintain custom workflows for Google Meet hardware to enhance meeting workflows, reporting, and room automation.

- Troubleshooting & Analytics: Advanced root-cause analysis skills (moving beyond “turning it off and on again” to diagnosing network or hardware failures).

Ability to read and interpret AV schematics and architectural drawings.

About you:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in AV design and system integration, with a strong portfolio of complex Q-SYS projects. Preferred: Q-SYS level 1 Certification, with the desire to complete further certifications in the future.
