More about our mission and what we offer.
We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst - Regulatory Reporting (IC2) to join the team in London. This is a high-impact role where your work directly enables Wise to operate and grow in regulated markets worldwide. You'll own the end-to-end lifecycle of regulatory reporting datasets — from understanding regulations and mapping them to internal data, through building and automating pipelines, to delivering clear visualisations and insights to stakeholders. You'll work at the intersection of finance, compliance, and data engineering, collaborating with teams across the business to ensure our reporting keeps pace with regulatory demands, Wise's growth and expansion, and its evolving data infrastructure.
This is a role for someone who combines strong technical skills, clear communication, and a drive to deeply understand the regulatory landscape and Wise's products. You'll translate that understanding into data — building things that are robust, scalable, efficient, and trusted.
Wise's Regulatory Reporting Analytics team builds and maintains the data infrastructure that underpins our regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. We ensure that reporting datasets are accurate, automated, and scalable — enabling Wise to obtain and retain operating licenses while meeting audit and partnership requirements.
This team plays a critical role in:
- Powering regulatory compliance across Wise's legal entities.
- Supporting controlled growth and expansion by onboarding new entities, features, and regulations into regulatory deliverables.
- Contributing to controlled and accurate finance data through data quality checks.
- Fuelling operational efficiency through automation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and maintain accurate, efficient reporting datasets to meet regulatory requirements critical to obtaining and retaining operating licenses across multiple legal entities, and to fulfil our audit and external partnership obligations.
- Automate reporting workflows to minimise manual intervention and enable self-service for end users.
- Design and build intuitive data visualisations that present periodic summaries, control results, trends, and variances to stakeholders in a clear and accessible way.
- Develop robust data quality controls and integrate them into automated reporting workflows alongside monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
- Liaise with regulatory, prudential, and financial controllers, as well as regional product, compliance, and banking teams, to develop a thorough understanding of regulations and accurately map them to internal data points.
- Collaborate with analytics engineering and analysts across functions to keep pace with evolving data infrastructure and integrate cross-functional attributes into regulatory datasets.
- Investigate and drive resolution of complex data discrepancies, stakeholder queries, and internal control findings.
- Champion and uphold reporting standards and best practices across the team.
- Leverage Wise's tech stack, including modern AI and agentic tools, and stay current with emerging capabilities to improve reporting workflows and team efficiency.
Technical skills:
- Advanced SQL: Ability to independently build efficient, readable queries spanning data extraction, transformation, and DDL/DML operations.
- Hands-on DBT experience, including materialisation strategy trade-offs and data quality testing.
- Experience working with a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake.
- Comfortable working with high-volume data.
- Python proficiency strongly preferred.
- Skilled with an orchestration tool such as Airflow.
- Proficient with version control, ideally Git and GitHub.
- Competent with a data visualisation tool such as Looker, Lightdash, or Superset.
- Demonstrable understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficient in Excel and similar spreadsheet tools.
- Understanding of cloud services, preferably AWS.
- Demonstrated use of AI and agentic tools in a professional setting.
How you work:
- You structure and articulate analysis and investigation findings clearly, and can explain technical content to non-technical stakeholders.
- You're comfortable working across functions, prioritising your own workload, and navigating ambiguity.
- You have a curious mindset — willing to challenge the status quo and ask questions.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a continuous improvement mindset.
- You're open to learning and adapting as tools and technology evolve.
