You will get to build your skills in Product Management through a tailored learning program in combination with executing on real problems. After your successful graduation from the Product Academy, you will transition into a full-time member of the Wise Product team!
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Lead to lead the Compute team.
The Compute team at Wise is responsible for delivering the foundational platform that enables engineers to effortlessly run and scale workloads via a secure, reliable, highly available, and cost-effective container runtime environment.
As a Senior Engineering Lead, you will own the domain, ensuring the delivery, reliability, availability, and security of our systems while managing the team's well-being, performance, and growth.

Shape Strategy & Drive Innovation: Collaborate closely with senior leadership to design and execute the compute strategy. Lead transformative initiatives to streamline processes, enhance system efficiency, and optimize operational costs.
Elevate Cloud Performance: Spearhead strategies for cloud adoption and optimization, leveraging AWS services to boost system performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Champion security and compliance by ensuring that all cloud operations meet the highest standards of security and regulatory requirements.
Oversee Internal Product Evolution: Lead the evolution of our internal product offerings, ensuring they align with business needs and empower widespread efficiency and capability within the organization.

Drive Architectural Excellence: Guide the evolution of a platform that's secure, resilient, and scalable, enabling Wise to move money without borders.
Empower Internal Teams: Develop reusable platform components to empower and streamline operations for other engineering teams.
Enhance Operational Excellence: Be actively involved in initiatives to continuously improve our operational processes.
What We Value in You

Senior Leadership Experience: At least 5 years of experience managing engineering teams, with demonstrated success in leading diverse and inclusive teams.
Strategic Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in designing, building, and scaling microservices and platforms in a cloud-native environment.
Cloud Platforms: Experience with platforms such as AWS or GCP.
Modern Infrastructure: Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure automation tools.
Global Collaboration: Experience working across time zones and successfully managing distributed teams.
Effective Communication: Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
