Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money.
Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.
Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.
For everyone, everywhere.
More about our mission and what we offer.
At Wise, we are building a world without borders, the fairest, easiest way to manage money across the globe. As our Engineering organization scales to meet the demands of a global infrastructure, the People team is looking for a Senior Reward Partner to deploy the total reward strategy for our engineering teams worldwide and to act as the main point of contact for reward matters in the Americas.
You will be the architect of a reward framework that enables us to attract and retain the world’s best engineers in an incredibly competitive global market. You will act as the primary strategic partner to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Engineering Leadership, ensuring our "Total Reward" narrative is as innovative as the products we build.
Your mission: Your goal is to build agile, data-driven reward frameworks tailored to the unique challenges of a global engineering organization, across different jurisdictions.
Act as the global subject matter expert for all reward related matters, specializing in Engineering roles across our global hubs.
Serve as the SME for all Americas reward matters. This includes ensuring our reward programs are in compliance with federal and state regulations, and advising & or supporting Americas regional implications for global reward programs .
Lead benchmarking exercises. Work in conjunction with the Talent Attraction team to build a robust intel hub and develop creative solutions to reliably price roles.
Design, plan, and implement compelling total reward initiatives, including base pay, incentives, stock and benefits (working together with the benefits, stock teams) that create competitive advantage for Wise to attract, retain and motivate talent worldwide.
Proactively lead pay equity audits and ensure our reward practices align with evolving transparency regulations globally.
Pull narratives from complex datasets (G-Sheets, Workday, Visier, others) to present actionable recommendations to technical leads, helping them make informed decisions during annual budget and salary review cycles and keeping track of potential retention/attraction hot spots.
Partner with stakeholders, Global reward partners lead and Dev. leads to deliver the annual budget exercise and manage salary review cycles for Engineering.
Take complex reward concepts and make them simple, educating leads and employees on our salary review guidelines, the details of our stock program and benefits, as well as the value of our total reward package to drive optimal decision making and engagement.
Deliver and contribute to high impact global reward projects as we continue to build our global reward frameworks, scaling in line with the growth of Wise.
Monitor competitive reward trends, evaluate options and make recommendations as appropriate to help ensure that Wise policies reflect best practice.
The role will be instrumental in identifying process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of our reward programmes and to take our Reward team to the next level.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Work in a high impact, fast growing global team where you have freedom to bring your expertise to the table and be creative in how you approach and tackle reward challenges. We're always keen to learn and listen to new ideas.
Be challenged and grow as you’ll be working with leads and employees - using data to solve reward based problems, coming up with solutions to drive attraction and retention in order to help us reach our mission.
Build for the future, we’re working to build out frameworks and processes that work best for Wise, meaning solutions that may have worked at other companies might not work best for us - we don't have it all figured out yet and that's part of the fun.
A bit about you:
Here's a little bit about what we think you'll need to be successful and happy in this role:
Tech Specialist: You have a deep understanding of the global Engineering talent market.
Americas Expert: You are well-versed in the US regulatory landscape (FLSA exemptions, state-specific transparency laws) and understand how to navigate the competitive pressure of US-based tech giants, and have solid working knowledge of other countries in the Americas.
Team player: You are a natural collaborator who thrives on building strong partnerships with Finance, Talent Acquisition, People Partners, wider People team and Engineering leadership to ensure our reward strategies are both competitive and aligned with broader business goals.
Depth and breadth across Reward topics: Particular emphasis on compensation benchmarking using multiple external data sources/survey tools, however you also need to have a good understanding across broad Reward topics such as benefits, stock, etc.
Worked in a fast-paced environment: This’ll help you know how to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities and you’ll need to have experience of designing solutions that take account of different legislative jurisdictions and cultural norms.
Led reward projects to completion: You’ll know how to scope a problem and craft a plan to deliver meaningful results - and you won’t be afraid of rolling up your sleeves to get stuck into the delivery.
Exceptional communicator - You’ll be well-used to working directly with leads and leadership teams, with a skill for taking the complex and making it simple.
Resilient: You possess the grit and flexibility to navigate "gray areas" without losing momentum. You bring a steady hand to fast-moving initiatives, ensuring that you can push projects to completion while remaining flexible enough to steer efforts in a new direction if required.
Effective analytical influencer - We’re a data led business but that’s not enough; you’ll need to be able to pull out and craft strong narratives from large data sets (using G-sheets and other tools) and present back with a clear narrative.
- Experience in tech/fintech company.
