Analyst AL2
Role Level
At Wise, our career map features two distinct tracks: the Individual Contributor path and the Analyst Lead path. We use a consistent set of defined behaviours and skills across the business. Below, we are transparently sharing the details of our Analytics team levels and corresponding salary bands to help you understand where you might fit, the expectations for an AL1 (Analyst Lead 1), and the clear path for your career progression at Wise.
Salary Ranges & Offer Philosophy
We establish our salary ranges using external market data from salary surveys. This data helps us determine competitive pay within the local job market where we compete for talent, typically focusing on companies similar to Wise or those in related industries.
Salary Chart:
London: £100,000 - £125,000
Tallinn: €69,300 - €86,700 EUR
Budapest: 22,260,000 - 27,780,000 HUF
Singapore: $162,000 - $216,000 SGD
Austin: $180,000 - $220,000 USD
New York: $194,500 - $237,500 USD

Do I share ideas proactively, find out solutions to problems and seek opportunities to scale impact?
Actively participates in leadership meetings by sharing their strategic opinion and driving healthy debate, focuses on the required outcome and drives the group in that direction. Do I promote and implement a feedback culture?
Creates a culture of constructive feedback by delivering high quality feedback at key moments to individuals/teams. Do I decide and propose the most relevant & strategic problems to solve based on my commercial squad needs?
Links KPIs of own group to that of other groups/larger org squad, tribe, company. Aligns and proposes projects that are able to address problems related to long-term company goals while identifying synergies and efficiencies across similar teams.
Execution
Do I solve the problems effectively, remove blockers and link solutions to outcomes?
Same as AL1, but for larger scope projects and/or projects cutting across several pods. Creates well defined roadmaps: a series of mid-size projects under one overarching theme. Horizon spans multiple quarters to a year.

Communication
Do I adapt my communication based on the goal and stakeholders to effectively influence decision making?
Oversees the creation of strategic wikis and documentation that align with organizational objectives, ensuring consistency and usefulness, with minimal supervision. Prepares and reviews high-level presentations for stakeholders, adjusting content to meet their expectations and needs, operating with high independence. Skillfully tailors verbal and written communication to influence diverse audiences and purposes, ensuring clarity, engagement, and alignment with strategic goals, demonstrating resilience and autonomy.

Do I partner with stakeholders so my outputs can influence decision making?
Leads effective partnerships with key senior stakeholders, ensuring their needs and perspectives are integrated into analytical projects, with minimal supervision. How do I utilize data analysis techniques and tools to support decision-making within the organization?
Leads comprehensive data analysis efforts to support strategic initiatives and organizational goals, operating with high independence. Establishes and ensures adherence to data analysis standards and methodologies across the team, fostering a culture of precision and innovation when performing deep dives.
Coding
Do I code and make the most out of our stack based on the tasks that I am assigned?
Develops high-performing SQL queries and database management practices, operating with independence. Leads on technology adoption to improve the development process for analyst. Gathers requirements across teams, and builds partnerships to tackle complex technical challenges.
Scalability
Do I create assets that are reusable and maintainable and leverage dbt?
Inputs into the design of scalable data analysis processes and pipelines that handle increasing data volumes and complexity, requiring minimal supervision. Ensures code performance remains robust as data scales. Proficient in using dbt if the work involves working with data pipelines. Establishes an environment of continued system performance monitoring. Collaborates across the org to incorporate best practices for scalability and efficiency.
