About this role:
Lead Product Analyst - KYC Controls
We are seeking a passionate Lead Product Analyst to join our KYC Controls team within the Fincrime squad. The team is responsible for building a robust KYC program that effectively mitigates financial crime while enabling sustainable growth through a risk based approach.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about our mission of “Money Without Borders” and eager to take ownership of a large analytics domain within a dynamic product area. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with one of our largest squads, responsible for keeping bad actors off our platform while ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. The Fincrime Squad consists of the following Teams: AML, Screening, Fraud fighting, and KYC controls.
In this role, you will have full ownership of your analytical space, contribute to strategic planning by collaborating with product managers, engineers, and fellow analysts, and drive data-based decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include measuring the impact of our initiatives, providing insights for planning, and ultimately enhancing the customer experience in line with our mission. You will delve into extensive datasets, generate impactful analyses, formulate recommendations, and ensure their implementation. We seek candidates who are passionate about uncovering insights through deep analysis and independently driving impactful outcomes.
How you will contribute to the team:
Own the end-to-end monitoring of unclear origin of funds risk - quantify the risk, define the risk appetite and identify the target population
Review KYC controls targeted at mitigating this risk and assessing the efficiency of these controls
Review of existing data sources regarding these controls, collaborating with other analysts and analytics engineers to improve them
Run experiments to improve efficiency of KYC controls, refining triggers and requirements
Skill Requirements:
You have strong quantitative skills. Ideally a background in statistics, maths, physics, engineering, or other scientific area
You have strong experience with SQL and Python/R
You have strong communication skills and an ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
You have an ability to structure business problems with minimal supervision and an ability to prioritise problems independently, as well as condense complex systems/ideas into simple-to-understand models
Hustler-mentality. You can take work beyond the analysis and get things done
You have experience with data visualisation tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) and demonstrate storytelling ability with data
You have 4+ YOE analysing data in a professional setting
Nice to haves:
Machine learning and advanced Python skills
Experience with DBT/ building data pipelines/ ETL Processes
Experience in KYC, Risk management domain
- Base salary: 75,000 -100,000 GBP gross annually (based on experience & interview outcomes)
