We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (Employment) to join our growing Legal Team in London.
This role is a unique opportunity to lead on all legal employment related matters for Wise globally and help deliver Wise’s mission of money without borders.
Your mission:
Work closely with our People and Legal teams globally to provide strategic advice and lead on employment and employment law-related issues for Wise globally, including recruitment, payroll and tax, compensation and benefits, and people operations.
Draft and advise on employment-related agreements and policies globally, such as employment agreements and offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements and codes of conduct.
Advise, partner and liaise with various internal stakeholders to develop and lead on processes for common employee-related issues, and drive other employment-related projects and initiatives.
Work closely with the Employee Relations team on any contentious employment matters, and advise on risk levels, mitigation and response.
Report to Head of Legal, Disputes (hard line) and Global Employee Relations Lead (dotted line).
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Make significant change - you will be the first Employment SME at Wise so will have the scope to create meaningful change, to create processes and structure and take ownership from day one, working with a talent team of legal & people professionals from around the world

UK-qualified employment lawyer
Ability to navigate difficult issues and multiple stakeholders, advising the business on key benefits and risks, and developing solutions.
Ability to juggle multiple matters at once across different jurisdictions.
Ability to communicate legal advice in a succinct and pragmatic way to different areas of the business.
Have a get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem solving.
