Supporting employees who need abortion care
We pride ourselves at Wise on building a workplace that is supportive, flexible and safe for everyone. As we continue our expansion in the United States, it remains important to us that we create an environment inclusive to the changing needs of all our Wisers.
With the recent decision from the US Supreme Court to overturn abortion rights, we want to support our team members to ensure they’re able to receive the care they need.
That’s why we are providing support for our Wisers who need access to safe, legal, abortion in locations where these healthcare services are not available.
In these instances, Wise will offer:
- Support for travel and accommodation to the next available state where this is safe to do so; and
- Compassionate leave to take the time off that they need. As part of our global leave policy, Wisers have up to 5 days of compassionate leave per year, in addition to 15 sick days.
At Wise, we believe that health care decisions are best determined by individuals in consultation with their health care provider. This approach, along with our existing global leave policy, will allow Wisers to enjoy healthy lives, inside and outside of work.
