Tell us more about Easter and how it is celebrated differently across the world

Easter is a Christian celebration of the story behind the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Churches around the world hold special services to share the story of the resurrection, often through masses or other worship services. In many countries, Easter eggs are a symbol of new life and are commonly used as decorations or part of Easter egg hunts, a fun activity especially for children.

Food plays an important role in the celebrations as well. In different regions, festive meals are enjoyed, including lamb, pies, salmon, and various types of bread, each holding symbolic meaning in different cultures.

Can you share a memorable or proud moment related to Easter?

When my family and I were living in Malaysia, I was asked to sing for our church’s Sunday Easter service celebration. I had practiced the song in front of my father who unfortunately passed away shortly after that time.

So to me, that singing of a special song in church for Easter Sunday celebration - to make my father proud for dedicating my time to serving the church and community - is one of the most memorable moments that I will forever hold on to.

How does the Christian community at Wise mark occasions such as Easter?

This year, I will help to organize celebration events such as the Easter Sunday event together with the other Christian Wisers in the Tallinn office where I work.

Our community across our different locations also comes together every week for a service to connect and share faith topics.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Christian community at Wise?

I have always believed that some of the best gifts in life are having a support group, and being surrounded by people who respect, listen and encourage one another. I take pride in working at Wise - a place that embraces religious diversity and faith inclusion.

I appreciate having a community that is open to understanding the beliefs and faith of other people. I truly believe that by being inclusive of different people’s faiths, we can enrich our community with deeper layers of love and understanding, bringing more unity and purpose to everything we do.
