Candidate FAQ

Why does Wise wish to record candidate interviews?

Wise uses Metaview, an AI note taker, to record and transcribe interviews. It creates a high-quality summary in minutes after the call. We use Metaview to ensure a fair and consistent evaluation process for candidates. The summaries and transcripts help us accurately recall details from the discussion, compare candidate responses objectively and allow our recruiters to review the interview without relying on memory or notes. This process helps us concentrate on you during the interview. It also helps us continually review our hiring process and make good hiring decisions.

Questions?

Heading

Participation is entirely optional. Candidates are informed in advance about Metaview and given the option to opt out.

If you choose to opt out, Metaview will not join your interviews - and your decision to opt out will have no impact on the outcome of your application. You can opt out by using the link which can be found in both your interview request email and interview confirmation email. Alternatively, you can inform your interviewer that you'd like to opt out and they will be able to remove Metaview from the interview.

If you change your mind or simply do not feel comfortable being recorded after the interview starts, you can inform your interviewer and they will be able to remove the AI notetaker and stop recording. It’s as simple as removing any other participant from the meeting.

If you would like to discuss any accessibility-related adjustments, have any disabilities or require any accommodations in the interview process, please let your recruiter know.

While on the call, please remember it is being recorded and it is best to avoid mentioning anything sensitive or personal that you do not wish to be on record. You may prefer to opt out of call recording before your scheduled call or ask your recruiter or interviewer to remove Metaview upon joining.

Yes. We use Metaview across all our recruitment interviews — from your first conversation with a recruiter through to interviews with hiring leads. You'll be informed before any recording starts and you have the opportunity to Opt Out if you don't feel comfortable.

Candidates do not automatically receive notes or recordings from their interviews.

This does not affect your rights as a data subject under applicable data protection and privacy laws. Please see section 10 of the Wise Candidate Privacy Notice on how to exercise your rights.

We retain interview recordings and transcripts for a limited period to support our hiring decisions and improve our hiring process.

Once a hiring decision is finalised for the position you applied for, we will delete all recordings and transcripts within 12 months.
