If you’ve just accepted a role at Wise, congratulations! 🎊

Whichever location you’re joining in, our employee onboarding process is designed to set you up for success from day one. Here’s what you can expect when you join Wise.

During our company onboarding which will take place in your first week at Wise, you’ll dive into our mission, products, and culture. We believe in understanding the ‘why’ behind our work, not just the ‘what’.

Where does employee company onboarding take place?

Depending on your location, your onboarding experience will vary. We’ll let you know which specific location you’ll be joining company onboarding in before you join.

Our onboarding offices include teams from all of our functions, so they offer a unique opportunity to experience cross-team collaboration and witness every function of our business in action. The onboarding typically takes place in Budapest, Tallinn, Austin, or São Paulo.

What does the first week look like?

Day 1: Housekeeping and orientation: Your first day is all about getting settled at your local office. You'll complete operational tasks, receive your equipment, and meet our Workplace community team. A tour of the office will help you immerse yourself in our culture and get a feel for your new environment.

Days 2 and 3: Company onboarding: Days 2 and 3 give you the full picture of Wise - from our mission and long-term strategy to our journey so far, including major product launches, expansions, and the growth we've achieved. You'll get familiar with our key products and services and understand how everything fits together. We'll also dive deep into our four core values and explore how they resonate with you personally. This comprehensive foundation will prepare you perfectly for your team-specific onboarding that follows.

Throughout employee onboarding, we offer deep dive sessions on our product and customer journey, ensuring that even if you're not in a technical role, you'll leave with an understanding of how Wise operates. Understanding our products and customer experience is crucial regardless of your function, as it allows you to see the bigger picture of how your role impacts our customers and helps you collaborate more effectively across teams.

What would surprise a new starter joining Wise?

Most employees tell us they're really surprised by how thoughtful and detailed our onboarding process is for their first week. We keep hearing that it's unlike anything they've experienced before. One of our key objectives is to create an irresistible employee experience, ensuring you feel welcomed and integrated into the entire company, not just your role.

Starting alongside other new hires offers a unique opportunity to build networks and relationships from the get-go. You'll have a sense of who to reach out to, even if they're in a different team, which can be incredibly reassuring.

And it works! 98% of new starters tell us they come out feeling much more confident about our products and the company, and they're genuinely excited to contribute to our mission.

“I felt the employee onboarding sessions were a perfect introduction to Wise, its products and services, and life at Wise. Taking the time to provide this information helps to bring new Wisers on the journey.”

What advice would you give to a new starter joining Wise?

Stay curious and don't hesitate to ask questions. Remember, this is your first experience with Wise, and it's also our first experience with you, so advocate for yourself by showcasing your skills and what you can bring to the table. Building relationships is key to your success here. And most importantly, have fun and embrace the learning process along the way.
