For those who don’t know, what is Wise Platform?

Wise Platform takes all of the world-class payments products Wise has built over the last 15 years and makes them available to hundreds of millions of consumers and businesses through the places where they already move and manage their money - with banks and online platforms. By allowing partners to tap into our instant, low-cost, and reliable payments infrastructure, we’re able to take the power, simplicity, and transparency of Wise to even more people!

Today, we’re already powering payments for some of the world’s top neobanks like Monzo, N26, and Nubank, alongside a growing list of leading global banks such as UniCredit, Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered.

In the online platforms space, we’re powering payments for partners across a whole range of industry verticals and use cases. Whether that’s leading marketplaces like Google, Agoda, or Upwork, workforce management tools like Deel, or investment platforms like Interactive Brokers - it’s incredibly exciting to enable our partners to solve real-world problems for their customers and offer a seamless and integrated payments experience directly from their own platforms.

Our key focus is on ensuring our partnerships are successful and scalable, driving value and impact for our partners, and most importantly, their customers.

Tell us a little more about the role of an Analyst in Wise Platform

Analysts in Wise Platform play a crucial role in answering one key question: how do we continue to accelerate growth, and do so in a scalable and sustainable way? This question has many facets and requires deep domain expertise across our products, partnerships, and processes. We’ve adopted a highly embedded model, allowing Analysts to become experts in their specific areas and proactively identify opportunities to drive meaningful impact. While there’s certainly overlap and plenty of opportunities to collaborate across the team, Analysts typically embed within Product Engineering, Deal-Flow and Go-to-Market (GTM), Servicing and Operations, or Pricing and Finance teams.

Product Analysts embed analytics into the product lifecycle end-to-end. From product discovery and appraising new features or functionality, to evaluating product performance and identifying opportunity areas. Product Analysts play a key role in shaping the priorities of our product teams and establishing robust and clear product roadmaps.

Deal-flow and GTM Analysts work with our Commercial and Delivery teams. They focus on optimising our Sales and Delivery processes to reduce time to revenue, guiding the team's focus with strategic insights and sales intelligence. They work on some of the most exciting deals in fintech, leveraging our data to build compelling business cases for prospects to partner with Wise Platform.

Servicing and Operations Analysts
focus on driving our operational excellence and scalability. They’re continuously identifying opportunities to reduce friction in the transaction lifecycle and operational processes - alongside spearheading initiatives to mitigate risks and keep us compliant, all while offering a best-in-class partner and customer experience.

Finance and Pricing Analysts are laser-focused on understanding and driving down our costs. By developing sophisticated cost allocation models, Analysts are able to identify opportunities to reduce cost drivers, which ultimately allows us to sustainably offer competitive and low-cost payment solutions to partners and their customers. They support our teams with commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and managing our profit and loss.

Regardless of where Analysts are embedded, they’re strategic partners who contribute to the conversation, drive decisions, and play a key role in shaping our success.

What’s exciting about an Analytics role in Wise Platform?

Data is central to decision-making in Wise Platform. This allows Analysts to truly influence and drive the strategic direction of our teams, products and partnerships. It’s an incredibly exciting time as we’re making significant investments into scaling Wise Platform. This comes with a number of interesting problems to solve, and there's certainly no shortage of opportunities to have a big impact from day one!

Analysts are given a great deal of agency to determine how they deliver impact at Wise Platform. Whether that’s building new data products, driving strategic decisions, automating workflows, or uncovering actionable insights that challenge the status quo - there are plenty of opportunities to learn and develop career-defining skills and experience.

Analytics, as a discipline, is changing fast at the moment, and at Wise, we’re continuously adopting frontier technologies and integrating them into our tech stack. Analysts can use best-in-class tools and techniques to solve real problems and also benefit from having a large community of incredibly talented Analysts to collaborate with, and learn from.

We hold a high bar for Analysts at Wise, expecting everyone to be full-stack and comfortable owning analytics from ingestion to insights. While this expectation is fairly unique in the industry, it allows Analysts to have a real sense of empowerment. They’re empowered to make decisions, minimise dependencies or blockers.

What sort of skills are you looking for in someone applying for an Analytics role?

Wise is constantly evolving and this means Analysts need to be comfortable continuously learning and building domain expertise. We don’t expect Analysts to be industry-experts from day one. In fact, industry knowledge is much less important to us than having demonstrated experience synthesising information, leveraging data to uncover actionable insights, and a willingness to form your own opinions and collaborate with colleagues to drive change.

We look for commercially-minded Analysts who are curious, willing to challenge the status quo, and thrive in environments where they can take real ownership of problems and solutions. Ownership is core to our culture - if you’re passionate about what you do, enjoy the opportunity to own projects from start to finish, and seek to bring clarity to complex and ambiguous problems, then Wise Platform is a great place for you to build a rewarding and fulfilling career.
