Tell us a little about your role as a Presales Consultant Lead

Our team is responsible for designing best-in-class payment solutions for some of the world's biggest and most exciting organizations. Presales at Wise Platform is all about shaping the future of cross-border payments, one strategic partnership at a time.

My role is multifaceted. I lead a team of talented Presales Consultants, and together, we work to win key deals and architect scalable technical solutions for leading payment companies across the Americas. On a regional level, I help shape our go-to-market strategy to ensure that we are in the best position to meet our ambitious growth targets. I also operate on a global scale, collaborating closely with our Product and Engineering teams to influence our product roadmap and ensure we can offer best-in-class payments solutions. Throughout all of this, I'm continuously focused on growing the Presales function itself, building the foundation we need to maximize our impact as our team scales.

At Wise Platform, we work closely with a diverse range of organizations—from Tier-1 banks to cutting-edge fintechs and globally recognized platforms. This allows us to solve unique, real-world problems and deliver innovative solutions for a wide variety of use cases. All while moving us closer to achieving Wise's mission: Money without Borders.

Tell us more about your journey into Presales at Wise Platform?

Prior to Wise, my journey started in algorithmic trading and capital markets, where I first learned about the power of technology to solve complex financial problems at scale. I was quickly drawn into the world of enterprise tech sales and worked for a half-decade driving innovation at an industry leading organisation in combating financial crime. I had the privilege of launching large-scale technical transformations for some of the world’s largest compliance programs, helping to protect banking institutions and their customers.

When exploring new roles, I wanted to work for a company where I could have a direct impact on the products we bring to market and the customers we serve. Initially, unfamiliar with Wise, I was intrigued by the opportunity and started learning about the company and its mission. The more I researched and the more people I met, the more I was drawn to the impactful work being done at Wise Platform. It's this combination of technical challenge, strategic commercial influence, and a direct line to product innovation that made the Presales role at Wise Platform the right fit for me.

As the first Presales Consultant to join the team globally, I built the team from the ground up and shaped our thinking about Presales as a function. Now, as a Presales Team Lead, I drive impact by working with clients, empowering a growing team of Presales Consultants, and driving the regional strategy to best position us in the market.

Since joining, I've had the opportunity to travel to various global offices, including London, Tallinn, Budapest, and Singapore. Wise strikes an excellent balance—offering opportunities for global collaboration and travel, while providing the flexibility needed for those who prefer to stay more rooted in one location.

What are some of the exciting challenges that Presales Consultants get to tackle?

One of the standout experiences for me was working on our partnership with a leading global financial services firm, Morgan Stanley. I collaborated closely with the deal team to navigate a complex sales cycle, ultimately helping them become the first investment bank to leverage Wise Platform. This partnership not only proved our infrastructure's reliability but also established a new model for engaging with top-tier financial institutions globally.

Another highlight was working directly on our partnership efforts with Google. This involved architecting a solution that allowed customers to compare options and send remittances through Wise directly from Google Wallet and Google Search. This not only showcased Wise Platform's versatility but also demonstrated our ability to scale our services for a major global technology platform. Additionally, working with a diverse range of innovative and fast-growing partners like Interactive Brokers and Ramp in the US has provided the opportunity to design and deliver scalable solutions tailored to their unique needs and business models.

How would you describe the ways of working as a Presales Consultant?

Our ways of working are centered around collaboration, empowerment, and a strong mission-driven focus. Internally, we collaborate with a vast network of talented individuals, including hundreds of engineers who are focused on solving for global payments innovation. We leverage their expertise to prioritize and build features that deliver value for our Wise Platform partners.

At Wise Platform, our work is guided by a clear mission and this serves as our north star.

As Presales Consultants, we focus on building solutions that take the infrastructure that’s made Wise so successful and provide this to large enterprises and banks so that they can offer exceptional payments experiences to their customers. This allows us to reach millions of customers through the solutions we help design.

The best part is the genuine empowerment you'll have from day one. You're encouraged to bring your curiosity, explore how our products work, and dive deep into understanding our solutions. If you spot a better way to do something, your ideas will be valued and you'll have the opportunity to help shape how we operate as a company. It's a culture where you can truly drive your own impact and make a meaningful difference.

How can individuals proactively contribute and make a meaningful impact when they join Wise Platform?

You have the chance to thrive in a fast-paced setting where your unique ideas are valued and encouraged. While there isn't a rigid playbook on working in Presales, you'll have access to a wealth of resources, knowledge, and support from great people, empowering you to excel in your role. You are encouraged to take initiative and drive change, whether it's by giving feedback to improve processes or drawing on your past experiences to contribute fresh perspectives.

The journey of learning about the intricacies of cross-border payments is exciting, providing endless opportunities for personal and professional growth.
